It’s liars and conspiracy mongers that don’t fit in. They are toxic to the body politic.

Considering that they’re labeled “far” … they should be drawn as edge pieces. Biden is certainly not “far left” though, so I do kind of wonder why Ramirez bothered with this image.

I don’t know what I find more curious: 1) The far left who think Democrats are fascist or 2) the far right who Democrats are communists.

What’s really lacking is education. Americans have absolutely no clue what these terms mean and they get sucked in by political propaganda, religious zealotry, and ignorant nationalist arguments.

For once, that’s pretty accurate. I would point out, though, that to the rest of the world, mainstream Democrats are a bit right of center.

There can’t be “unity” when one party actually tried to OVERTURN AN ELECTION because they lost, and refuse to even acknowledge that that election was valid.

There can’t be unity when one party blocks and obstructs absolutely everything the other party tries to do, and gives no indication that they’ll stop.

There can’t be unity when one party filibusters EVERYTHING, refuses to hold hearings on any judge nominated by a Democrat, and refuses to even bring the bills of the other party to the floor for a vote.

Maybe the Democrats should adopt the “Hastert Rule” (the Republicans actually one of their parliamentary rules named after a child molester). The Republicans would scream in outrage like it was the most unfair thing that ever happened.

I keep on wondering what you find so threatening about the “far” left ( a term I find dubious at best).

Is it that they want a health care system that doesn’t ration care by your wealth?

Is it concern for climate change that threatens civilization if not humanities very existence?

Is it a desire for social justice and a fairer society?

Those things don’t seem so very scary.

You’re closer than usual with this one. Extreme views from either side do nothing to advance the processes that this country needs.

Once again we get the “Both Sides” defense. One side justifies Treason and Insurrection,

The other side wants to raise taxes on Top earners from 37% to 39%

    OH THE HUMANITY

Oh the irony and you left-leaning posters don’t see it! Unity is going to be a challenge and yet the only people posting hate here are the ones who voted for Biden. You guys don’t want unity and would rather keep stirring the pot?

It’s not unusual for the far right or left to not fit in with the general population. That’s why they’re called far. But, as there is still a large segment of the population that is a part of the Trump core, even they wouldn’t be considered a part of the whole. I guess that’s why Mike didn’t show the entire flag.

The far right are a bunch of fascists who want a dictator. What they call ‘far left’ is health care and education.

What’s interesting is, that in attempting to create a false equivalency, he overlooks that the Proud Boys, the Boogaloo Boys and other of their watch listed ilk show up at any kind of protest—leaning the concern waaaay to the right as the FBI and others have warned , for years.

The “far left” have zero impact on American politics. There is only right and far right. Biden and the current lot of Democrats are right of center. Not by a lot, but still right. Even Bernie is just “regular left”, not far left by any means.

As near as I can tell, a far leftist is someone who wants the US to provide universal health care and to address climate change, while a far rightist wants to burn down the capitol as if that would to keep their losing POTUS in office for a second term. I have no problem being associated with the far left.

The two loose pieces are clearly from different puzzles. It’s up to all us intelligent, educated, experienced, rational, and WEARY patriots of all stripes to fashion pieces that will complete our 245-year-old puzzle. Then we can all deal with those who misplaced/destroyed the missing pieces.

Based on the shape and needed colorings of the pieces that remain unfilled, and the shapes and coloring of the two puzzle pieces remaining, to me it looks like Mr. Ramirez is saying that neither the Far Left nor Far Right fits into the puzzle… a call for Moderation perhaps?

L & R are NOT mirror images of each other. When has the Left promulgated lies anything like the “birther” lie (about Obama)? The “pizzagate” lie? Or maybe you do believe those. Well, so do I just like I believe the earth is flat (just look)!

No one in Portland or Seattle was trying to overthrow the government by installing in the presidency a candidate who had lost the election. The US is currently paying more per capita for health care than any other country in the world and is far from the top in life expectancy but is very high in infant morality. China, the worst offender except maybe us, is ahead of schedule in meeting pollution reduction goals. The rest of the world is working to reduce emissions. Only the US, under Trump, pulled out of the Paris Accord.

The puzzle doesn’t have a place for either. Is it incomplete without them or better off with them modified to fit the openings? To which my priest replied,”Super thought provoking. My immediate response the puzzle itself is flawed if all of the voices don’t have some kind of space to be heard. Maybe the uniform and unimaginative design of the puzzle itself is the problem.”

Actually a great start for a non-partisan discussion of unity.
