As I remember it, the “Six Day War” started when Nasser, speaking for the UAR, publicly announced that all of Israel’s neighbors were going to join together and drive Israel into the sea. They were moving their armies to Israel’s borders when Israel attacked first (appropriately) due to the announced threat and the proven intention of it’s neighbors to follow through with the threat. This followed years of armed attacks Including rockets from the Golan heights) and suicide bombers attacking unarmed civilians, including small children. A few Arab leaders said that they considered children to be justifiable targets since they would be harder to fight once the grew up.
President Trump has been nominated for the “NOBLE” Peace Prize by a neo-nazi leader in Norway. The Trump Administration had posted a picture of a smiling Trump with the world Nobel misspelled. You can still see it on Google. At least they spelled peace instead of piece.
The situation in the middle east with the “Trump peace plan” is more complex and nuanced than Ramirez or the commentators seem to understand. To understand that you need to read the Wikipedia articles “The two state solution” and “the Trump peace plan”. The Palestinians got the short end of the stick when Great Britain created a “two state solution” for Palestine and Israel. The Palestinians are competing with the Uighurs for which area is the largest open air prison on the earth.
My Judeo-Christian upbringing causes me to favor Israel and I am repulsed by the acts of terror against the Jewish people, but I also understand the hatred of the Palestinians against the Jews and would not care to condone the genocide of any people of whatever religion.
I remember the hoopla associated with the Camp David Accords when Jimmy Carter was president. Despite the favorable publicity about a framework for peace they fell apart. I think that since the Palestinians were not invited to the discussions for “Trump’s Peace Plan” that they will eventual unravel as well.
I welcome any treaties promoting peace. However, the Palestinians, who are the party most affected, are not in the process. There will be no peace until there is meaninful progress between them and Israel. It’s been almost 70 years since Israel became a state, rage festers deeply among the Palestinians and we see what long-term rage has done in the U.S.
There is word out that Oman may join the doves soon. Hope Saudi Arabia also joins in. All these nations know they need to be united against the common threat of Iran, and that Israel wants to live in peace.
So Israel bombs the Palestinians and steals their land to build settlements on and then expects them to agree to anything? Sounds like the Americans dealing with native Americans…
Dang – you trolls will find anything to whine about! I would’ve thought that peace in the Middle East would be an admirable goal. Well, when you hate somebody bad enough nothing they can do is right…
I’ve said it for years – If, for some warped reason, you desired to encourage terrorism, you could do no better than to emulate the British in Ireland or the Israelis in the Middle East.
I know that Egypt and Jordan are a big deal, but have Bahrain or the UAE actually ever seriously been at war with Israel? It’s great that they fully recognize Israel, but there was no fighting between Israel, UAE, and Bahrain to stop. In fact, they were all united against Iran.
I see bad things coming for this short-sighted and evil “resolution.” Jihad will be preached in neighborhood madrassas and local mosques; the targets will be largely Israel but also the Arab governments that fall in line with the west. Scary.

As usual, the other Arab countries have taken the side of least resistance, rather than supporting the Palestinian cause.

Trump should allow the Palestinians to emigrate to the US and live on his golf courses. See, there is a simple solution for peace in the Middle East!

A strange alliance indeed. Like neighbor hood gangs, each one despicable on its own.. combining to take on a rival.
