Yeh, no. They’ll scream in faux outrage, then watch the game.

Seriously. It is as if everyone has forgotten the purpose of the arena: to enable the wealthy to flex their power and a circus to distract the masses from realizing we live in an unjust system benefiting a corrupt few.

The glut of commercials is more offensive than the politics. A football game carrot dangled by NFL greed. Makes a fan feel like they are being suckered. No wonder viewership is dropping.

Stop having the police kill them, or people like them, and they will lose the motivation to bring “politics” into the game.

The next insightful toon from Ramirez might feature the interior of a Vegas casino complete with slots and gaming tables.

Yeah, like that’ll happen. The fact that they are playing at all is proof people would rather chance death than miss sports. What’s it say that the straw that breaks the camels back would be Black players protesting racial injustice?

The NFL has certainly never engaged in politics ever before. Certainly never lobbies national, state or municipal legislators or executives and invites them to luxury boxes.

‘Celebrations’ of the military, paid for by the military certainly have nothing to do with politics.

NFL stadiums are never paid for by taxpayers.

Teams never get income or property tax breaks.

You’re partly correct. Some local Trumpers set up an outside TV for the season opener.

Those players are disrespecting the military when they kneel for the Anthem. Thankfully we have Trump to properly respect those losers and suckers.

Yeah, who wants these people to have their own opinions? We want to see them on the field, performing like trained donkeys, right? Bread and circuses, baby!

Hmm. That player’s uniform looks suspiciously like the 49ers. And the fan seems to be in a Dolphins jersey. Is there a message in that?

Well I decided to watch my team today and was very happy to see zero Raiders take a knee or raise a fist in protest. The Las Vegas Raiders won their very 1st game ever, glad I tuned in. It is so smoky from the ANTIFA Fires I can’t go outside anywho.

If you have a problem that needs attention and you have a forum, then it’s foolish not to use the forum to gain attention. Though the NFL is a (non profit!) organization of “teams” that are all about the bottom line, so if BLM things cut into profits, they will surely be removed. This year, of course, it’s almost impossible to figure out what’s cutting into profits, so I expect no real changes until after the Super Bowl.

We had dinner at a local bar/restaurant. They had the Saints/Bucs game on.

I had heard about the plans but it hadn’t really stuck in my head.

I’m listening to the crowd noise but wondering why there are no crowd shots. The cameras are tight on the filed and sidelines, even on the “wide” shots.

Just as I’m putting 2 and 2 together the camera takes a shot of large empty section of the stands. With ONE guy sitting there. Wearing a mask.

They are piping crowd noises through the stadium speaker system. Wow. Absolutely pathetic. Just use a laugh track.

What’s happening to the money involved in pro (and college) football? E.g., all the money paid for stadium seats.

What if, instead of doing nothing while waiting for things to change, that were diverted into a system of health care?
