What I don’t get about this whole thing, they are claiming the ships were mined by Iran and they have a video of Iran removing a mine from a ship, at least 10 feet above the waterline, based on how they were standing on the deck.
Forgive my ignorance, I’ve only been in the military for over 20 years and working with them for over 20 more, but my concept of naval mines are that they are designed to attach and detonate below the waterline, in order to, y’know, sink a ship (holes below the waterline tend to allow water to come in and make it hard to plug the leak). What do these mines do, jump for joy when a ship comes near and give a hug high up? A naval version of a Bouncing Betty? How does that even work (for those who know the concept of how a Bouncing Betty works)?

Something doesn’t smell right here.
