It is the RIGHT turn that caused the crash, and a RIGHT TURN was the result of “compromise”, so HOW does Ramirez get this????
the RIGHT turn is what the voters chose…
the RIGHT turn is what the Dems agreed to, Temporarily…
the RIGHT turn is what gave America better times under Reagan and 2 Bushes….a better economy and higher employment % and better numbers on interest and inflation.
Ramirez nailed the issue again…he is good!
“the RIGHT turn is what gave America better times under Reagan and 2 Bushes….a better economy and higher employment % and better numbers on interest and inflation.”
Um Jade Let me provide you something.
When Clinto was President and we had those great times and in the early Bush years when things were still good here is the congress and senate break downs. Then things started sliding under Bush as you put it. Look at the split of Congress and Senate below and tell me what party had control during the “good” years and what party took control when things started sliding down hill. As you will notice the time when everything was great under Clinton it may seem weird but the Republicans controlled the House and Senate.
If you doubt it just google it.
Senate R: 53 & D: 47
Congress R: 230 & D: 204
Senate R: 55 & D:45
Congress R: 228 & D:208
Senate R: 55 & D: 45
Congress R: 227 & D: 207
Senate R:54 & D: 46
Congress R:222 & D:210
Senate R: 51 I:1 & D: 48
Congress R: 205 & D 229
Ramirez lives in his own strange world where nothing can be too “right wing.” I think he likes facism, maybe. Still draws well, tho.
Ramirez is brilliant …
believecommonsense: Look up “fascism,” and you might find out what it is. I’m always amused by people who throw out terms like that, and have no idea what the hell they are talking about.
In reality, our current system of government is as close to a fascist system as it has ever been, and it got its start during the FDR administration. It’s a historic fact that Roosevelt was a huge fan of Mussolini (up until he was forced to declare war on him).
@WestText - Actually, if you look at it, when Bush Jr became president with his Republican majority, government spending blew up dramatically: giveaways to the Pharma industry with Medicare Part D and two tax cuts even McCain himself voted against due to how disproportionate they are; then 2 undocumented wars with invisible spending. In 2003, due to lack of regulation, Warren Buffett warned of “weapons of financial mass destruction” which would eventually obliterate the economy.
Taxes were still raised on the upper income earners under Clinton even more-so than the previous administration shortly before Bush removed them.
Rejoice, America! You are living in the best of times, at least if you are into (big) business. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/24/business/economy/24econ.html?_r=1
Now, granted, you might not have noticed how good the last two years have been, but that’s your problem. See, for the right people, the crisis ended long ago (and they’ve got the checkbook to prove it - http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2010/11/03/wall-street-gets-its-groove-back/). The rest… Well, we can always hope for somethink trickling down. After all, taxes didn’t go up (and iirc with the payroll taxes went down), so everything will just be fine and dandy.
the liberals believe that if you vote for smaller government and lower federal spending and lower tax rates, you to them are a “fascist”….but it does not compute….fascism is when the central government bureaucrats control private businesses as with the USSR.
and we are closer now than ever before….it is the underlying reason for the grass roots Tea Party voters.
someone with PC skill with a chart, help, please, by showing the IRS tax rates BEFORE and AFTER Reagan’s cuts. I think the top tier came to about 35% from 90% of income. And still, the top tier helped bring a “boom” that almost doubled the dollars paid in income taxes, because those with money felt freer to invest and earn!
facism: “Fascists seek to organize a nation according to corporatist perspectives, values, and systems, including the political system and the economy. … Though normally described as being on the far right, there is a scholarly consensus that fascism was influenced by both the left and the right.”
I think of fascism every time I think of Palin.
Sorry …. Fascism = Obama …. (read the definition again)
“.fascism is when the central government bureaucrats control private businesses as with the USSR.”
Nope, that would be communism. Fascism is when you get corporate leaders in the government - not the one that people see, perhaps, but in the backroom where the real power is.
Then again, luckily for most people here, the US has yet to actually see either first-hand.
“Fascism = Obama …. (read the definition again)”
Considering that militarism, corporatism and hierarchy are among the basic principles of fascism, I’m having a hard time imagining Obama as a fascist. He hasn’t been exactly forceful in getting his policy across, either.
If ignorance is bliss, Ramirez is blissed out
