The infant stage can be difficult, at least with the first one. But my siblings and I all worked together with our mother to reduce everyone’s workload. I have specific memories of when I was three, helping mom clean and care for my new brother.
I was glad to do it. I liked and admired my mother. FWIW, she never treated me (or any of us kids) as a burden.
Puppies are a lot of work, and you need to multiply that by about 100 to be equal, and that’s on a day to day basis. Puppies are ready to go be dogs in two months. Babies can take at least 18 years to become adults, and for some probably never. And, on top of that, if they don’t everyone figures it’s your fault.
There are more options in life for women than : 1) Succeeding in the business world, and 2) being married and raising kids. Those are just two options. I’ve done more with my life after age 50 as a divorced Empty Nester ( a new career, more education, travel), than I did in the first 50 years of my life.

Perhaps there is also honor in marrying a rich guy and living the life of leisure.
