Scientists renew research to unlock the abiding mysteries of the universe. A scientist puts a copy of the U.S. tax code in the Hadron Collider. Scientist: The U.S. tax code? Are you mad, man?
Remember the U. S. Tax Code is estimated to be about 75,000 pages long.
And all but about 100 pages or so (YMMV) is a political payoff of one kind or another virtually all to corporations people and/or millionaire-billionaire people.
The US tax code is a reflection of too much democracy, and too much Scalia-Thomas “free speech” We clearly have the best tax code money can buy!! Stop yer complaining.
Are you insane??? You can’t simplify the tax code! Corporations and the wealthy need it to be this convoluted so their accountants can continue to use quasi-legal tax doges to get their tax bills down to zero. Let’s be honest. The main reason companies like Apple and Google have so much money is because they avoid paying taxes in pretty much every country they operate in thanks to tax doges and loop holes.
“We have the right as individuals to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right to appropriate a dollar of the public money.Davy Crockett”#No wonder Congress, both Senate and House, unanimously voted to burn Davy’s coon skin hat after he left to help out at the Alamo!!
Notice none of the conservative, clown candidates even mention reforming the tax code. They all keep talking about cutting social programs. Never a mention of corporate welfare.
Not intentional murder, but history is full of business reducing quality to dangerous levels & dumping poisons in the water, air & soil when it helps the bottom line. There is nothing wrong with honest profit. Honest cost includes cleanup, which is a legitimate, deductible business expense, but few businesses do it until forced by regulation.
I like a flat tax, every penny over $1million. Don’t like it? Pay your workers more (or for more workers) & charge your customers less to get under a million. After all our years of arguing, you’re still a Rushbot & I’m still a Commie.

Book after book of exemptions, actually, not hardly a sub atomic particle.

Lawyers would be out of work if we simplified the tax code.We can’t let that happen, can we?

Just the US tax code? Is there a simple tax-code anywhere in the universe?
