fracking is used to make it possible for shale oil extraction to produce oil and natural gas in places where conventional technologies are ineffective.

Who knew that companies who use fracking methods would be partners in Mr. Obama’s War on Coal? They must be stopped!

(The above is meant to be sarcasm. Please do not give me a hard time for actually believing any of the above.)

Absolutely correct. We Libtards (please capitalize: we’re proud of our nickname) want nothing less than to destroy this country, one community (and one block, if necessary) at a time. There are many methods at our disposal, but the most important is to ignore our natural resources and buy them from people who hate us. The more they hate us, the better. And if they use the money to attack us, it fits perfectly into our Master Plan. Try to stop us, punk.

(Again, sarcasm. I get tired of the hyperbole, and the whole concept that "my side wants what’s right, and the other side is our mortal enemy. Sometimes, I feel it’s easier to join them than to set them straight.)

Since the GOP has blocked all action on climate change, every little thing we can do to make oil and gas cost more is a righteous act for the planet. Wind and solar are already cheaper than coal. Let’s make them cheaper than gas and oil. And rooting for exploding oil cars makes conservatism look dangerous and unpleasant, so please keep doing it, suckers.

How about “Gee, how safer it would have been to send this via pipeline”.

“Safety” regulations on pipelines, and all oil and gas operations, have since Reagan era changes in regs, and especially under “W”, been rewritten by the industry, and STILL ignored, by the likes of Halliburton (thank you Gulf oil spill!), and El Paso Natural Gas, a Halliburton affiliate controlled by a guy named, gee, Dick Cheney.

FERC btw issued a pumped storage permit for a guy who proposed moving water from a lake to the top of a mountain, and letting it run back down to generate electricity at “higher” rates. The only minor problem they overlooked? He proposed pumping THREE TIMES THE ENTIRE VOLUME OF THE LAKE, EVERY MORNING!! They will issue ANYONE a license, for ANYTHING; that is the Reagan/Bush/Bush legacy.

Transportation “safety” in all forms, is a joke, and if regs were corrected, and followed, the operations COULD be safe, but profits might drop by 1-2 %, so that won’t happen!
