Not that I’m a big supporter of the Hawk side of Obama but you can’t argue results, he got Osama, Gadaffi is gone (without much cost to us). I guess Bush can count Sadam as his victory but when you think of the cost… Obama is achieving more at a lower cost , isn’t that what Rumsfeld wanted with his outsourcing of the American Military ?
An assassination plot to kill a Saudi ambassador is being compared to US drones killing those who have advocated and/or planned to kill Americans?I must have missed it when the Saudi ambassador advocated killing Iranians…
It IS interesting how we, with overwhelming technology and firepower, keep calling for exterminating Iran, or anyone who opposes us, but if they strike back they’re the “evil” ones? Sounds really “biblical”, is that why conservative “Christians” are so hung up on finding a “messiah”; to oppose?
"To rid the world of Osama bin Laden, Anwar al-Awlaki and Moammar Qaddafi within six months: if Obama were a Republican, he’d be on Mount Rushmore by now." – Andrew Sullivan
Obama gave the go ahead orders to the seals, as he is the commander in chief of all US armed forces. Saddam was executed by the Iraqi people against Bush’s wishes. So perhaps he doesn’t get credit for that one. Bin Laden lived for years without the Bush administration being able to find him, and instead they wagged the dog of the Iraq war. Obama’s commanders found him in two years and acted on it.
The REAL scary drones aren’t the huge increase in unmanned military aircraft, but the ones who follow Teapublicans and think any of their current “potential candidates” function above moron level, or shouldn’t be in straight jackets.
band of evangelical Christians that Rush Limpwad supports…Kony may have been angelic when he was an altar boy but that’s where it ended.US interests in East Africa are aided by Museveni’s efforts in fighting Al-Shabaab in Somalia with 20 000 troops. but M7 isn’t that altruistic, there’s money in them peace forces. M7 sees the 100 military advisers to fight Kony as a pay-back for this effort.
And speaking again of drones, exactly what is the purpose for FAA being pushed to clear their activity over more and more of the U.S. air space? For all the black helicopter crowd concerned about hard-mounted cameras in Britain, and elsewhere, how ’bout over your back yard. Well, considering on Google Earth I noted a friends small swimming pool in their back yard, are drones really needed? Well, only if you need them to be “weaponized”.
