Well health care is dead, whatever comes out of the House and Senate, if anything does get out, it won’t fix the real problem – 47 million without insurances, and that the Health Insurance can (and do) refuse to provide treatment because of pre-existing condition, or just drop your coverage for whatever reason they want.

When I first saw obama run for president it didnt surprise me that mainly younger people voted for him not for him being black but because he offered change. people have become a prisoner to the current system and has allowed themselves to fear change either by outside influence or internal fears. NOT saying Obamas change is correct but im saying that the health care system needs to be fixed and only a change can fix it

When I began my career, my family received wonderful insurance coverage from a non-profit Blue Cross. The hospitals were all non-profit. The insurers and hospitals were participating in a social contract. Their charter was to provide service to the public. Rarely, if ever, would we hear of claims not being payed. I became very aware that California’s coverage was better than most.–while in hospital in Texas, I was offered to be moved to the Oilmens’ Suite when the hospital found out how much California Blue Cross paid over Texas Blue Cross.

When old man Kaiser showed Nixon what he was doing with his combined insurer-care-giver program, Nixon called in the Life Insurers to tell them they were missing out on not getting into the health insurance business. They saw the way that Blue Cross/Blue Shield had to please boards of directors made up of executives from major corporation and Unions who were volunteers concerned about getting the best coverage for the employees. All they had to do to replace the social contract with the profit motive was to change the business model to earning profits by denying claims. Imagine! All they had to do was deny care in order to be profitable.

This happened less than 25 years ago. That is how long America’s health care has seen profit trump quality care. This business model really pays off. And, with genetic profiling at hand, it will be possible to increase profits exponentially by eliminating more potential losses by showing that so many people “could” develop diseases.

All we are trying to do is restore the social contract that allowed insurers immunity from anti-monopoly laws in the first place.

Everyone should watch wha the GOP is doing to Rep. Ahn Cao from New Orleans who voted for the bill Saturday. When he saw that the stim. package was going to bring $millions to his district, he announced he would vote for it. But he was man-handled by GOP leadership in note voting for it the next day. This time, he made no announcement. He waited until the 14th minute to vote, and immediately left. His ideological and political crucifixion has begun. The first Vietnamese-American member of congress will go down in history as being push out by party purists. This should make Scott proud.

There is no humanity in what the GOP is doing to our country. The Senate GOP has a filibuster on every judge nominee. The GOP has used the filibuster 87 times in the first 10 months. Never in history has so much been done to defeat this president, and damage America in the process. Once again inhumanity, meanness, spitefulness, hatred, bigotry, and selfishness is trying to take control of this country. Scott is very proud.

True health care reform? Like trying to throw more bones to the pharma companies? Like trying to scrounge a few possible billions in a system costing multiple trillions of dollars?

There is a difference between “true” and “cosmetic”.

Keep the Guvment’s greedy socialist hands offen my Medicare an’ VA benefits!!

Let’s get government out of highways & airports too and don’t even think about having them run a military system.

Well after reading several of these posts I can see that it is safe for us to leave the country in the hands of the “Compassionate Conservatives”.
