    ANandy - you are correct. This is because women, ‘negroes’, and people with Spanish surnames have their condescension detectors on. The GOP could nominate lots of people with Irish surnames - if they’re against everything I’m for, I won’t be voting for them.

    I will give credit where credit is due. Ronald Reagan did very well in nominating Sandra Day O’Connor. Mr. Reagan cared about QUALITY and in fact he is was quite clear that he did not care for Rumsfeld or Cheney or for Bush Sr. for that matter. I didn’t agree with Ronald Reagan’s politics but his sense of honor, ethics, and rationality did not waiver. He was not a right wing warmonger, paying lipservice to the christianists.

    Um…Diane, Reagan is perhaps the only president indicted by the World Court as a criminal, for mining Managua Harbor.
