How in the world am I going to pay for health insurance that costs $13,000 with a $5,000 credit on a $50,000 income?

Actually the health care system in the US is great. It’s just that access to it leaves a lot to be desired…

Mr Davies is entitle to his opinions,(and cartoons) but he’s very much mistaken, maybe He should fly down to Cuba and take a look at the wonderful Socialized medicine system..

Better yet, fly down to Miami and interview one the thousands of defecting Doctors He will find there, they’ll tell you the real truth of “Socialized medicine so called accomplishments…….

You know, Machado, TGS, etc., I’d love to hear how you would fix our health system, which all the data says is among the least efficient for what we get – #1 in cost to the consumer worldwide and something like #28, which puts us well below all the major industrialized nations and probably below many minor ones as well. Saying “Eek! Socialized medicine!” just ain’t gonna cut it. This system is broken. And one of the main reasons for that is the insurance industry, according to actual healthcare provider organizations. One of the “socialized medicine” options would be to create a national health insurance which would eliminate all the companies who are skimming major bucks off the top, but still be run like a business. Not exactly Soviet-era medicine.

And another piece is the cost of becoming a doctor, which is awfully high considering the contributions of doctors to society. Investing in doctors, as many countries do, wouldn’t be a bad thing either, and might open doors to more good potential doctors who lack the money or the desire to become massively indebted. The Obamas cleared their law school debts – much lower than med school debts – only around 2001, if I remember correctly. I suspect they get it.

What’s that they say about ignorance?

Here’s an old article, this was before the US gave access to defecting Cuban doctors, as you know, to practice Medicine here they have to go through special training, and that’s how the number of Doctors and Nurses defectors is tracked….. it was mentioned the other day in a News cast…

    http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/02/03/america/LA-GEN-Colombia-Cuban-Defectors.php?pass=true

You should hear what they say about your Socialized Health care pipe dreams…

And this article was written a year ago….

I left out a rather important bit in my last post - we’re #28 in quality of health care. There’s no doubt we have some of the best doctors and technology anywhere – if we could provide access to it. We have one of the highest percentages of people not covered by health care of any industrialized country in the world. Some people consider that shameful. And don’t give me that Rush “just go to the emergency room” crapola - that doesn’t work for cancer.

    StewieZ says:

“Just wait until you have a VA type national healthcare system when you talk about access. Just depends on how much you like to wait “-

To paraphrase A great Congressman. Lloyd Bentson, Stewzie l AM a Veteran, Stewzie you are no Veteran.

Experience the VA before you make remarks about what you know nothing at all.. OOPS, that IS what you do.

And this cartoon has NOTHING to do with Obama’s health care plan. It simply demonstrates the perception that, to the uninsured, McCain’s tax credit doesn’t get them into a health care plan.
