Gunther probably should have started by saying Dez met him in the hallway and opened the door. And there was Tiffany. Blame Dez for opening the door; don’t try to characterized how Tiff was moving.

I still think Gunther is moderately autistic. He obviously should have replied that Tiffany didn’t prance across the room for Gunther – Tiffany didn’t know anybody was coming in. Instead, Gunther searches for the right word to describe Tiffany’s stride. I know it’s a comic and this is supposed to be funny – but that sounded like autism to me.

Going with Bets here Gunther, Tiffany got caught in an embarrassing moment. Your reaction is depressingly oh I saw a naked women and that means something. Grow up already Gunther, people do not have clothes when born, and at many points after. Is Bets your love or not, decide. If Tiffany running across a room naked is your last thought other than Bets, neither of you deserve the other.

I actually think Gunther’s lines are funny.

Bets, on the other hand, is showing this is not a good match. Is she going banshee on Tiff next?

Gunther should just tell Bets that he was being a nice guy and offered to towel Tiff off, then she accepted, and he meticulously dried off every square inch of her voluptuous body. Once Bets cools off and comes down off the ceiling, a new baseline will be established, and anything Gunther does after that point will pale in comparison.

You know, wouldn’t be strange if Tiffany and Gunther got together? Whoever thought Brad and Toni would be an item…

We might finally get our break up arc. But also, Gunther didn’t present the situation well. The more nervous he gets and the more Bets thinks he was into seeing Tiffany naked, not so much as any naked woman. Bets and Tiffany have been at odds before recently. Bets is going to have to accept the living situation she accepted: Tiffany, the hot, old friend; The Nudist; Stephanie, the hot cheerleader breeding like a rabbit. Naked was bound to happen sooner than later. All this in a dorm. Bets might want to get her own place.

….“Bouncing”?

What a precise analysis of the movements, Gunther sure has fixed the image in his mind forever! Bets begin her jealously attack and seems it will be a big one. How long before she will start yelling at Tiffany? This could be both the end of their friendship or the big explanation that will made everyone laugh and make their friendship stronger. Unfortunately, the first possibility is more probable.

You’re at the beach, and an attractive young woman walks by wearing a bikini. – Bets is going to get jealous.

You’re at a Comics-Con, and you stop by Budd Root’s table and look at the cover of “Cavewoman: The Hunt #1. – Bets is going to get jealous.

You get a phone call from ANY of your “lady friends” and Bets is going to get jealous.

Are you beginning to get the picture? And the longer you hang with Bets, the WORSE it’s going to get.

What you don’t know, is that Bets stood with Tiffany and Dez and WATCHED a guy get dressed, for God’s Sake. That’s apparently okay. But she has the unmitigated gall to accuse You of accidentally seeing Tiffany naked??

Run away, Gunther.

PS: You’ve been to enough Cosplay events to know that there are other gals out there besides Bets with a love of cosplay.

And MOST of them aren’t NUTS.

Hopefully, they will not get their overbites accidentally locked together during this Tiff, I mean, argument….

Legend has it that a guy left the showers and was walking down the halls carrying a towel when the RA’s wife stepped out of their apartment. The kid freaked, then covered his head with the towel as he fled.

I don’t get this. Dez was right there a second ago. She’s the one who opened the door, then both Dez and Gunther saw Tiffany naked, running across the room. Where is Dez?? Did she just disappear??

It was an accident but it’s clear that Bets is somehow going to make it out to be Gunther’s fault and that he did it on purpose.

Gunther The Player. Between him and Bern The Hussy, there are two who think outside of the box (albeit reluctantly).

This kind of thing happens in a dorm or any situation where a lot of people cohabitate. If you can’t handle the possibility of someone seeing you without clothes by accident, you shouldn’t live in the dorm. If you can’t handle seeing someone naked by accident, you shouldn’t live at or go into a dorm.

If Gunther wasn’t being such a nebbish about it and explained what happened with Dez and Tiff without being so flustered, there wouldn’t even be an issue. I thought dating Bets had upped his self confidence a bit.

Really can’t stand Bets

I was so hoping that Gunther had finally dumped Bets in their last fight so we could move on from her. She is an annoying character that just needs to go away.

Both are emotionally immature and in a “No knock up zone”, so do what you must, but don’t produce a third party to mess up the rest of your lives.

a) How long have these two been dating? If he hasn’t seen her naked yet, she’s got no cause to be upset.

b) This strip could use with some nudity.

I want to like Bets, but just I don’t.

So where does this arc go from here. GnK must have had some idea for a series of episodes and/or an overarching arc when they threw these four female characters into such close proximity. First Kip came into the mix, reconciled with Stefi and became a thorn in Tiff’s side. Now they’ve thrown Gunther into the milieu. Like Kip, he is currently in a relationship with one of the quad denizens, Bets. What now?

If they go with Gunther and Bets reconciling, then Bets will probably retain some jealous feelings toward Tiff. This will make Tiff’s dorm life even more upsetting. If Gunther and Bets pull a Stefi and Kip in Dez’ room, what a mess (no pun) that will be. Gunther and Bets may suffer another split over this obvious jealous outburst. There doesn’t seem to be many good outcomes in this direction. Tiff may hook up with Gunther, leave the dorm and move into the Gulag? Where does that leave Dez, Bets and Stefi Bird an story material. Tiff may reprise her matchmaker role and reconcile Gunther and Bets again? Where does that leave Tiff’s story?

Hard to see where this is going.

Betts must DISROBE IMMEDIATELY! Problem solved! Gunther will explode in a mass of hysterical protoplasm, and the problem will be resolved! NEXT!

Okay, Bets’ comment here was out of line. But I don’t think anybody can say they wouldn’t be upset to hear their ‘significant other’ saw a person’s roommate ‘au naturel’. Even if it was by accident.

That said, Bets’ seems more upset with Gunther’s explanation skills (or lack thereof) than anything else. Although his clumsy way of telling her should reassure her that nothing happened.

Very late in the day (by Luann standards, any way)…

I am very, very, very disappointed that G&K have decided to go in this direction.

There are days when I think G&K must intensely dislike their characters, if not downright hate them.

Many have said that about Luann. Some here (myself included) will tune away the weeks that Luann appears. Her story lines are Just. That. Bad.

Historically, Tiffany was the strip’s villain, though she was reformed, at least during the Ann Eiffel run. Now, she’s been pretty much relegated to her former role of dipstick blonde cheerleader with an overdose of poor-little-rich girl.

Gunther appears to be the guy that most readers just love to hate – even though, other than Brad and Toni, Gunther is the only one in this strip to be in an actual relationship with anybody – let alone his relationships with most of the legacy female characters of this strip.

And then there’s this week.

Amnesia again.

After Bets’ realization that Gunther is „the one“ and has envisioned having children with him.

And now, this.

Maybe Schrodinger’s Dog is right.

Time for us to move on.

Bets is probably right to be alarmed. She knows there’s something going on between Gunther and Tiffany that might ignite if they are alone together…especially now that he’s seen her (current) naked body. He could prove his devotion to Bets and end her jealousies, or….the image he witnessed will keep popping into his head and he will realize he is attracted to Tiffany. If they add Luann to the mix, It is quite possible Gunther will become the most eligible bachelor in town. Amazing.

“Ohhhh! We’ll draw you a comic that’s long and immense… Wayyyy-heyyyy! Slow the plot down. Just give us an arc that makes no friggin’ sense. We’ll try so hard, to slow the plot doooown!”

I just keep wondering what happens to Dez? She creeps in, does stuff that causes a bunch of drama and then disappears. It’s really annoying, but then, maybe all of this is counting as her payback for the door slam in the face.

If she really is going to make a big deal out of this, tell her to take a hike. It does not bode well for your future happiness

Definitely not intentional but if a guy doesn’t look at a pretty naked girl walking, sauntering or whatever walking by him, you don’t really want him as e boyfriend…..

Knute is crossing the Mooney Campus when he sees Gunther riding a bike. Knute asked where he got the bike. Gunther says this beautiful woman rode up to him, threw her bike to the ground, tore off all her clothes and said “Take what you like”. Knute says, good choice, the clothes never would have fit you.

This is an issue (Bets’s jealousy) that I would have thought would have been confronted and dealt with much earlier in the storyline. I don’t know why it’s coming up (perhaps with a possible breakup) after going through all the trouble of having them get back together after Bets initially left.
