I agree that the best thing to do would have been to just keep an eye on the cat and wait for it to come down on its own. It will eventually, probably the same way it went up.

I tried to get up on my roof to check on a leak. Very difficult, couldn’t stand, trying not to slip. When I got the roof replaced the contractor got up there and walked around inspecting. I asked him how. He had special shoes for walking on roofs. I had no idea they existed.
Been a while since we’ve seen that Gray character. I still suspect that a plot line with him as some sort of big time bad guy is coming up one of these days.

Any guy who’s willing to climb up a drain pipe and walk on the roof to RESCUE a kitten is O.K. WITH ME!! If he was a cold hearted bastard (like many seem to think), he’d have just said “…the cat figured out how to get up there, he’ll come down when he’s hungry…”. You’re a good guy Les – even if you don’t want people to think so!
I remember the times my Bengali climbed up on the roof to sleep under the stars on a clear night. Mostly she sleeps on my bike. The cover works as a hammock over the seat when secured with rope.
