I don’t believe it. A few high flaunting terms and a bit of “Tiffany Charm,” and old Ed appears to become silly putty in Tiff’s hands. And to think, she only got a 47 on her last exam.

If Tiffany manages to pull this off, she should send a thank you letter to Cynthia Jha.

This is still all very suspicious. How does a junk peddler suddenly have buyers lined up for a $4,000 lamp? And Ed doesn’t have $4,000 – or $2,000 – or $1,000 on him. If Tiff lets him walk out with anything, I’m already crying for her.

The Untold Story of Ann Eiffel, Part 2 (See Lilrabbit on December 5 for part 1)

Natalie Fairhaven’s silent crush on Etienne Eiffel, charming roommate of Thomas Farrell Jr., would never be revealed. She knew her family would disown her if she broke her engagement to young Tommy. Her father, the redoubtable James Edward Fairhaven had made it clear that Miss Natalie would marry his ward and late partner’s son or wither away as a spinster. James had affection for the boy of course, but more than affection was at play; Tommy Farrell Jr. had inherited his father’s majority interest in that solid old investment banking firm, Farrell and Fairhaven.

Tune in again tomorrow for part 3.

Hang on… a year ago, Cheap Ed wanted Gunther to pay him $200 to haul off Mom’s furniture, not knowing that some of the objects could sell for a half-decent amount. Cheap Ed didn’t bother consulting the Internet back then. And now he’s Internet savvy?

Just a few minutes ago (comic strip time), he offered Tiff $3 for that very same lamp, not bothering to tap his newfound Internet-savviness. Greg probably could have drawn him with his baseball cap turned forwards, because, as we all know, doing so magically adds +25 IQ to the wearer! :-)

Well Tiffany could channel Stacy London from “What Not To Wear” show and transform ED into a decent looking salesman peddling high-end stuff. She did a good job makeovering Gunther and Bernice. Help him launch his junkyard status to an auction house. Although she failed that economics class, she knows marketing. She proves that here.

Where was Tiff’s newfound business acumen when she was selling upscale undies and clothing via Gunther’s EBAY account? Now she’s taking one business course, which she’s flunking, and now she is ripe with a business plan.

Oh! By the way. Didn’t Bets say that Tiff’s Soufflé undies alone would cover her dorm room? Why the dire straights now? Just Luanniverse I suppose.

I do hope this is the intro for Tiffany becoming financially independent. As they say; The best revenge is to live well.

Color me skeptical. The whole scenario about Cheap Ed becoming a seller of pre-loved luxury goods is pretty ridiculous. The transformation doesn’t happen overnight. He’d need to garner a new reputation, and build a new customer base. That takes a lot of time. And a long-term partnership? Questionable.

And the next question is… how can he/they sustain this? Tiff has a (single) roomful of luxury goods. If Ed mortgages his house and buys her stuff at her price, and magically sells it at a profit, then what next? Where will the next infusion of luxury goods come from? Other ex-rich kids on the skids? Right now, he’s in the trade he knows… a constant stream of college kids moving out, selling their cheap junk, new college kids moving in, buying cheap junk. Tiff, all by herself, cannot possibly be the source of new stock. The gravy train will quickly grind to a halt.

Such an interesting (and odd) series of panels this week with Ed and Tiffany. It will be very entertaining to see how this develops. The possibilities are intriguing. Any wagers on the outcomes?!?? Here are the odds as I see them:

    A) Tiffany and Ed form a partnership that is successful and Tiffany is no longer financially destitute and she becomes independant from Annie and Tom “Cat”.(I would say, 10-1 odds sounds about right)

    B) Tiffany and Ed form a partnership, but it goes horribly wrong and both lose the shirts off their backs. (I would say, 5-1 odds)

    C) Tiffany helps Ed do the first sale in some fashion from her stuff…. then Ed sells the rest, and Tiffany has enough money for a while, but her financial instability continues to be the on-going theme. (Honestly, I suspect 1.1 – 1 odds would be the best anyone could hope for.)

An interesting turn of events. Tiffany is giving Ed something of a business upgrade. With the profits he can be making, he could hire her as a part-time consultant. Pawn Stars call in consultants all the time. She could do this job and still continue with the Fuse and her studies.

In the meantime, she’s getting ready for her big move to a smaller room. While the shared rooms are cheaper, perhaps she can find a smaller single room. And let’s not forget about her cosmetology skills. If all goes well with Ed, perhaps she can give him a makeover as well, to attract richer clientele.

I’m guessing Tiffany went to Ed this time (instead of Bets and Gunther) because with Ed she can have the upper hand (so to speak), push him around to her way of thinking. With Bets and Gunther they (essentially) pushed her around since they had all the skills for posting on e-bay which Tiffany doesn’t have (she could if she would make an effort).
