Al just couldn’t resist Irma’s urges, could he?
Irma talked old Al into to getting ALL of the Cats! Uh Huh. “One cat is plenty for us,” Huh Al? Just goes to show “Who” wears the pants in THAT family.
And how much do you wanna bet that one or more of those cats is gonna end up in the Gulag? :)
Called it. ✨❤️✨
They each picked cats that match their personality.
There’s one missing? I’m sure there were five in the litter from yesterday
Irma talked Al into getting both the kittens and Moe.
Well Less and Gunth have a bunch of new sibblings.
Seriously that many cats? i think one would have been enough, most people i think if they’ve never had a pet before normally don’t buy that many as far as i know. but than i’m not much of an animal person anyways so i could be wrong. and Les is right say hi to a Cat? my grandmother when she was alive used to put her dog on the phone and it would drive us nuts cause we called to talk to her not the damn dog
Five cats… is that enough to cross the “crazy cat lady” threshold?
looking those cats also reminds me of when i was at a friends house and i accidently sat on their cats tail. it wasn’t on purpose and the way it was curled up you’ve all seen it before even if you don’t have a cat, it didn’t look like a cat was even on there,
what makes is so funny is that normally you’d have a cat hiss at you for doing that or scratch you, or leave you alone not this cat each time i was over there the cat would always come by me wanting to be pet it was really funny i think.
I have a feeling that Les is going to bond with one of the cats. Maybe that will improve his personality. It’s never too late.
I already adore Mo. Wanna bet the boys will adopt two of the kittens?
Al doesn’t do happy very well, but I actually think I see pleased or contentment on his face. Sometimes he can make Buster Keaton actually look giddy.
Curiouser and ciriouser – how do these cats fit into a future arc’s plot? There’s got to be a reason for this week’s arc.
A friend of mine once said that he never goes to shelters so he doesn’t bring them all home with him.
They took all of the litter except for one? Sad days for the orange kitten. That’s just mean.
I was going to say yesterday, too late now, normally you don’t adopt the whole litter. One at a time is enough.
Looks like Irma and Al got cats that match their personality. There’s four energetic, fun-filled kittens upon which Irma can lavish love and attention now that her widdle Gunthy is all sorta-kinda grown up. Al has a cat that appears to be as exciting and stodgy as he is.
I can’t believe they took grumpy Moe as well as most of the kittens (I took the other one).
Cue whip cracking sound effect for Al.
All my allergies triggered and I’m on THIS side of the screen.
When she said “parents” I wasn’t expecting the feline version of the Brady Bunch.
Guess who will be asked to looked after that mob when they want to go on a vacation. ;P
It will probably be the second cat house Al has had a hand in. One in Vegas, and now, one in Pitts.
BTW, I wonder why they only took 4 of the kittens and left the orangish – yellow one behind?
I’d like to think Les is going to fall madly in love with one of the cats, but he strikes me as more of a dog person.
Cats are a sign of mental illness. Dogs are so much better.
My wife and I have fostered kittens and wound up adopting two of them. They are a joy.
I’ve no idea what GnK are thinking with this week’s episode. Except maybe “Let’s see how many readers we can get talking about cats.” Meh… :o\
Awwwww….. this is puurrrfect♡ Irma has her kittens and Al the cat version of himself. I love this♡. Once again we see that Al can’t say no to Irma, he love her too much.
Five cats?? Have fun getting used to the smell of several litter boxes that will have to be cleaned at least three times a day.
Kiss your inheritances goodbye, lads. It’s all going to the cats, now.
Awww, they adopted the old kitty too! So sweet!
The surprise for me is that, apparently, Les doesn’t appear to care for Al. This, in spite of Al helping Les scam Ann.
All in the family, I suppose.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Al smile so much. He’s so giddy with excitement
this is the best sign so far that Al is human!
I have five cats. Who wants to make an issue of it? hahahha
Yes – Greg where is the last one? FYI – Kittens need to be in pairs minimum. They teach each other through play to be gentle with each other (and their humans) and to keep claws retracted. The folks who think they know best by taking one small kitten end up all scratched and playing with inanimate objects – especially roughly, makes it worse. You reap what you sow.
So – then some folks declaw – when that happens youhave an insecure defensive cat with toe amputations who has nothing left but teeth to defend itself and possibly phantom pain from toe amputations. This leads to a higher rate of return at the shelter for declawed cats and “forever homes” (such a sweet but elusive phrase) do not happen often, but euthanasia by sad shelter workers does….
In later life two cats keep each other active longer and mentally healthy too if pet parents are gone often. Two cats not one is your best bet.

I kept married to my ex-wife an extra seven years out of an eight year marriage because I gave her three cats in our first anniversary. Watch out for the ‘paper’ anniversaries
Well wrong again! I figured Moe for sure, well okay half right. Irma clearly gets what she wants from old tough, inscrutable Al, but that is not surprising. Now what will all those cats. I think kittens are cute, but Moe is interesting. So we see by and by what’s next.
Aaaaaaand, guess who gets to baby-sit?
Crazy Cat Lady starter kit.
The big one would be given an uncommon name, while the others get cute kitty names.
From no cats to five. Jumping in with both feet.
Kittens usually get adopted very fast. The old cat may be theirs permanently.
gotta say that I already love the older cat. That expression is so “leave me alone before I shred the chair.”
and irma starts on the trail to becoming crazy cat lady
anyone else notice les is sitting in a bean bag? my wife made me ditch that when we got married 20+ years ago
Yay! I called it. They brought home Moe and the kittens. Irma and Al are both such softies. Welcome home Everyone!
Ohhh sh . . . . .
“Moe” and Al? A purr-fect personality match!
Guess they couldn’t pick just one.
It’s also my understanding that they are simply fostering these felines until forever homes can be found for them. So it will be interesting to see who goes and who stays and who winds up with Gunther and Les?
They took all the others but left the orange one behind? :(
Each got a pet to match their personality
Well, there goes the local bird and squirrel population.
People who rescue cats are the best!
They adopted the whole kit and kaboodle.
Who can say no to Irma? Clearly not Mr. Grey!
I had a feeling that’s what would happen.
She’s a real crazy cat lady now!
Good for them says the owner of 6 rescue cats
Hopefully they will literally just foster the kittens, get them ready for their forever home. The grumpy old dude has ‘Master of the House’ written all over him. And he’ll probably take on the kitten raising duties, which I bet will get repeated regularly. No blessing is strong enough for people who foster pets in need so they’re well-socialized when they get adopted.
Mr. Gray: _Internally: AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGTTHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Do you think maybe Al fed the 5th kitten to Moe when Irma wasn’t looking?
Animals pick humans with similar traits.
I love how it’s the colorist of all people who finally took a stand against the idea of “Al has exactly one set of clothes and he will wear it no matter the occasion.” Making the suit brown instead of grey is a small step, but it’s still important to push back against Evans’s idiocy.
They have officially reached the crazy cat lady limit. 5 puts you there with an exclamation point! The kitty litter smell makes you batty!
aww SWEET! they picked up MOE!!!!
I now haz a happee. Kittehs!
Hi Les, what’s mew?
The best of both worlds.…………………………
An optimist believes this is the best of all worlds.
A pessimist fears the optimist is correct.
They are just fostering people not adopting-although they might keep the big guy after he shows them what a great cat he is.
R.I.P. Edward Mahoney, aka “Eddie Money”. Weird looking guy who was a pretty good singer/songwriter.
Know who will be the “cat sitter”?
The whole “kit and caboodle.”Their own clowder of cats!
If you’ve ever owned cats you get it.
They could have just adopted the kittens and left hateful cat there!
Another crazy cat family is born.
If someone posted this earlier, forgive me. But did you notice that Les is saying what’s the cat going to say? "Hi Les, what’s …… (next panel) …. MEW! (What’s new? lol)
I think Moe will wind up being Les’ cat.
You have never lived until you’ve been owned by a cat.
Irma needs someone or something that needs her – she’s happy she got the litter! Al on the other hand has a cat that looks like the holder!
Yay!! All the kitties found a home!
Woah. That is a lot of cats for one household. We typically have had two at a time….. but for a few years we had three…. and now through loss due to age…. only one. For me, the duties (aka litter box duties primarily) of three cats tended to be bordering on what I felt was a definite maximum…. two always felt comfortable… and one…. easy.
One especially wonderful cat (a “tuxedo” cat that I am sure ’ole Al would have approved of :) ) developed diabetes when he was about 9 years old. I was able to control it with insulin and he lived to a decent age of 17.
Ha Ha … I’m so delighted. Moe is a furry form of Al (who likely favored him). The kittens are Irma’s love. Irma will be so busy; she won’t have time to worry about Gunther.
Les must have worn out his original beanbag chair. The first two was a blue one for Gunther, and a brown one for Les:
I can’t decide who Moe (his facial expression) resembles more, Al or Les.
Saw that one coming.
She’s a Mom. He got a grumpy Cat who is probably a Lot like Les.
They truly are parents now.
MEW MEW MEW mew! – Cathovens’s Fifth!
Al will loosen up in this cat menagerie; maybe Moe will become his treasured companion (besides Irma).
Anyone else notice that the one big cat looks like Al?
Big Al should have gotten a white cat, then put on his grey suit, and he would look like Bond villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld …..
I can’t tell. Is Moe upside down or right side up?
If there’s one thing Les and Gunther seem to have in common, I think it is that neither is an animal person. You can tell right away by their stiff awkward response. Three cheers for Irma and Al, taking in these homeless ‘puddays’. Their house (with the addition of a few plants) will now be a home.
Another thread of infinite tedium. Oy.
This could potentially turn cat-astrophic!
That one Al is holding on to looks more like a pin cushion than a cat.
Well! Mew to you, too!
Irma and Al have gone from No Pets to instant Cat Lady overnight!
I like cats but 5 is at least 3 too many. A baby would have been a better story line.
BTW big shoutout to Sallymargaret hey guess what? I FINALLY collected all of the Little LULU Halloween comics!!! WooHoo!!!
Let not forget the name of this comic is LUANN! So were is Luann??
What happened to kitten #5? There were 5 in the box,
There were FIVE kittens in that box. They left one??!?
