You could combine it with a Mexican dessert and call it a flanicure. You could do one where it makes you more regular with a branicure. A jungle man could get a Tarzanicure. You could go to the Middle East and get an Iranicure. Soccer moms could get a minivanicure. Runners could get a ranicure.

I think we are seeing the birth of Tiff’s future career…and business.

Tiff is sharper than she has generally been given credit for. It’s more that Tiff has just been trapped in her own little world. That’s why I had hopes for Tiff & Gunther, who has the same problem. In past years, the only gift Tiff had for anybody was to spread ‘em – in which case remaining selfish was the best option. However I was majorly impressed when Tiff told Gunther she wanted to see him happy. And I’ve enjoyed when Tiffany traded verbal arrows with Luann, and later, with Ann Eiffel. Tiff deserves her frequent leading roles in some of the arcs.

If Tiffany is involved, I’m all in for a Fannicure and a spot of hot tea.

Are we seeing Tiff actually thinking about her future.

Ox, you surprise me. You came with the best ideas! Tiffany, you couldn’t go wrong with Ox. He is real, friendly, accepting, easygoing, loyal, among other positives. His only downside is he is not Hollywood handsome. I think if you suggest him to go bald (as in shave his wispy hair) he’d look better. I actually think he could be an asset in your ever-changing life than anyone could.

At the risk of saying something (Hoo-Boy) “offensive,” could you classify what Tiffany is doing as waiting on Ox (WAIT for it) Hand and Foot?

Ox is a lucky guy with a lot of integrity to boot. He comes from a wealthy family and could have probably solved Tiffany money problems, with the snap of his fingers. But he didn’t, and he’s “helping” in other ways.

And its to Tiffany’s credit, she hasn’t taken advantage of HIM.

Will these two ever become a couple? They were kinda heading in that direction years ago. I dunno. But I get the impression that if that DID happen, somebody may wind up getting their heart broken.

At the very least, Ox may wind up being Tiffany’s Luca Brasi. She could USE one around Ann…..,

Tiffany is rising above Luann. She has become far more interesting than Luann, the title character. Luann is just too ordinary. Nothing to write about her anymore. Unless Greg finds her a permanent love interest but we already have Brad and Toni so he would have to make Luann and her guy different from B & T so that’d be a problem. Perhaps change the strip to Pittsville or Townies of Pitts. Luann already is cast on arc rotations and has gotten less frequent so why keep the name? Yeah, I know. It’s been a long-known name and changing it would drop his reader base. Someday people will ask “Luann who?” or “Which one is Luann?”

I’m still waiting for the health department or state cosmetology board to show up and put an unfortunate end to Tiffany’s new growth.

I was just thinking about a certain, “Really Annoying” RA that is not too crazy over Tiff will come and do just that. Between now and Friday sometime when she sees a long line of guys outside Tiff’s room. Ox can bring her a lot of business.

I will also dare to say that I see someting in her future with the name “Tiff’s” on it. It will be successful and I also see her friend Krystal becoming an employee of hers. Many “legally blonde” type characters have succeeded that way. Why not Tiff? She’s dumb, but not stupid. She may make something she likes into a successful future for herself and truly thumb Anne Awful’s nose. That alone makes it worth it.

Maybe there’s space at Kafe Kablooie for her to do the mani-pedis..

A fanicure? In English we would say “vajazzle”.

Somehow, “fanny-cure” sounds dirty to me… but keep brainstorming, you two!

Ex-football player here, and while I’ve never had a manicure, pedicures are awesome. My feet feel like a million bucks after I get done with one, although I usually only treat myself once a year.

Ox? One word – Royalties!

I get a manicure; my manicurist calls her FMO (For Men Only) and has many clients.

Wonderful to see positive energy in Tiff at last.

But… somehow… we’re just waiting for the GnK ax to fall on Tiff’s neck.

I regularly see men of all ages come in for pedis at the salon I go to. Some are alone, but most come with their wife or girlfriend. Women still out number the men, but it certainly isn’t a rare occurrence!

There has been a discovery, a sighting, in panel #2. Ox really does have a neck, he’s not just a Mr. Potato Head look alike.

They’re on a roll now! With Ox helping her spread the word, this could be big.

Let me guess…she’s going to start a man-spa business. That’s actually not a bad idea! I think a man who would get his nails done professionally would be sexy. In fact, I’d love to fine me a man who would actually do that with me for a date!

After a bout with a life threatening illness, I was moping around feeling sorry for myself. My wife took me to her favorite nail place and insisted I get a full manicure and pedicure. It was amazing how much better it made me feel. I’ve been a regular customer there now for nearly 15 years, and I see more and more guys coming in nowadays.

When are we going to nail this arc, the toesion is unbearable? Bad huh? Actually I am happy to both see OX, such a kind, humble giant of a dude, with well drawn feet and see Tiffany actually smile, and be motivated. You notice that the male characters tend to get her to react more fully and positively, although (and here I have my defense shield up MD) Gunther really drove her into perhaps a needed revaluation of herself with a rather brutal assessment of where she was at that time. But in the long run in the Luannverse stories, the Tiffanyverse may actually be looking up. Lets hope so.

This is a nice, playful “filler” strip that somehow still does a bit of arc-plot advancement. It even throws in a bit more character development for Ox. Might we be looking at the strip-finale pairing for these two?

Fanicures are nothing new; college cheer squads have been doing this sort of thing for years. Even my dearly departed mother celebrated her alma mater: She had her nails painted maize, and had M-I-C-H on the right fingers, with I-G-A-N on the left fingers, in blue. The word GO was on the right thumb, and the left thumb was all blue. She was doing this in the late 1980’s, and it was then picked up by the mid-90’s cheer squads.

I’m hoping this arc will also be Berniece’s chance to shine. I’m sure she’ll have to bust Tiffany for trying to run a business out of her form room – though tecnically She isn’t doing that yet since Ox isn’t a paying customer – that’s a given. I’m hoping Bernice will also step into her counseling roll and help Tiff explore other career options, and hos to use Moony U to prepare for them. Bernice is overdue in the character growth department.

Yes, it is very relaxing. Most people don’t get mani/pedis because they can’t afford the $30 to $50 price tag.

It seems that after high school the kids have become victims of a scatter gun syndrome. Nothing holds them together anymore, and they split up and run off in different directions. Normal, I suppose, but not as much fun.

I see a budding romance here…Ox isn’t as dumb as he looks and opposites do attract.

The business is looking good! Tiffany could give cheaper mani-pedis to students who can’t afford to go to a salon. I just hope she doesn’t get shut down!

I am wondering how Tom Farrell will take to this. He has always struck me as very shallow.

For that reason I am also wondering how he will react if he finds that Ann had a lot of plastic surgeries. There is that family nose she does not sport, and could be more changes. Heck she could have had as many plastic surgeries as Putin:

Quite fun today. The puns/fractured names for procedures are quite good.

From this series, it seems to me that Tiffany should strongly consider changing her major from (presumably) theater to business. It seems to have invigorated her more than to just scrape by.

However Greg deals with the dorm/license issues is rather unimportant to me… he can ignore them or feature them. But, I do like a lot that Tiffany genuinely seems INTERESTED in something. This feels a bit like when we had the panels where Jack came to the conclusion he wanted to be a veterinarian. It feels like Tiffany is waking up to the idea of creating her future. Nice.

I think/assume that Greg will (hopefully) spin this story in such a way that Tiffany stays in college. That was partially why my suggestion of her changing her major to business would be good.

I really didn’t think Tiff would actually go through with what all was involved…especially for a pedicure. But I was pleasantly surprised. I’m rooting for her to make a win and show the world she has a brain :0)

I’ll bet Gunther helps her out with the business plan, Bernice maybe starts to rat her out but then helps her with getting permits, and Luann and company all become regulars.

Tiff could go at this from another angle, but I hate to see her drop out of college to accomplish it. But when dealing with someone like Ann Awful, dire circumstances sometimes require extreme measures. If, by some chance, her little venture is shut down, Tiff could quit college, move back home with Daddy Dearest, and tell him that Annie told her of his financial troubles and suggested that she drop out of college as he could no longer afford it. Of course that would be a lie, but sometimes you have to fight fire with fire. She could bolster her side by showing that Annie has already taken her credit card and is monitoring her expenses as well as showing concern that, according to Annie, Daddy – O is going down financially. That might just take him by surprise, just finding out that he is in a financial crisis that may not exist. I am certain that this would indeed open a channel of communication with her old man as well as maybe opening his eyes as to what Annie is up to, including her fake lingerie scam. Unless he’s already PW’d and is too far gone. Worth a try though. Annie and Tiff living under the same roof would certainly give G&K some good story fodder.

Tiff shouldn’t leave college. she can become a business major, and Mooney probably has a center for entrepreneurship (sp). colleges are into this these days. Tiff could seek guidance from that center. Ox and Tiff might start a business together.
