Please, please correct me if I’m reading Bernice wrong – but is she saying that Tiffany likes Gunther? And she thinks Piro has got the hots for Tiffany?

Hey we agree here. It does not matter the gender make-up, humans have all the same emotions, and they definitely get mixed up totally in relationships. There is no difference between same sex and different sex when it comes down to emotions, love, desire, jealousy, the whole ball of wax.

I wonder if Bernice and Pru will start a relationship.

I’m glad we are getting to know Pru – and she is a likable character. But why, oh why, is she drawn to look like a 45 year old?

I like Bernice’s little knowing joke at the end. She understands that relationships are sometimes hard no matter with whom. I think that these three are now on the road to getting along spectacularly, which is a great development! Pru is a welcome addition to the strip and with her spunky personality should really liven things up and perhaps teach the younger set a few things about life in general. Greg and Karen really pulled one on us here, and that’s a good thing.

Bernice’s belief that gay relationships would be any simpler seems naive but perhaps understandable. On that score, While some commenters are wondering if Bernice and Pru will “hook up”, I think that would be a poorly motivated plot device. She seemed VERY interested in Piro when he stayed over. Could be bi- of course. What do other readers think?

Actually, if I were the Evans, I would consider a relationship between Pru and Dez. Both theatrical, and full of fun.

In the “Luann world” ….this is still Valentine’s day. The holiday lasted 2 weeks in our world.

Like the strip, but it always takes a snail’s pace to nowhere. Just once, let something nice actually happen…..like having Gunther and Tiffany finally “discover” each other, develop a mutually caring relationship, and be reasonably happy like Knute and Crystal.

Even best friends dump each other sometimes. I dumped a friend who was abusing her kids. My best friend in high school got another best friend, but we stayed together in our little group of girls. I was more interested in going places with my boyfriend anyhow, but Bernice should understand that there are many types of relationships considering her field of study. There is drama in every kind.

Dez and Pru would be a lot of fun together: Full of fun, spunk, unconventional in their thinking, and wise beyond their years. They could really teach Lu, Bern, Gunther and Tiffany a few things about life, growing up and acceptance.

Knute and Crystal haven’t had a story arc since they graduated high school. I think GE’s relegated them to purely background characters, since the traditional pairings with other characters ( Knute and Gunther being pals, Crystal and Tiffany ) are no more.

You will be surprised.

I think Pru’s Girlfriend Drama is what is going on right now with Bernice and Luann. I’m sure Pru has female friends that are not romantic interests.

y’know, there’s a very subtle implication in Pru’s last line, “knowing about girlfriend dramas”, that could be read as meaning she has some point-of-view that is shared with Quill. NOT saying she agrees with him! Just that she’s been on the “other side”.

Could Mr. Gray and Gunther’s mom already be married? Probably not, but wouldn’t that be fun! Then they could have a party at the Fuse.

I don’t think psychology is Bernice’s forte.

I think it is time for Luann to expand her romantic horizons now that she has dumped Quill… Pru is just down the hall…A little experimentation might open new opportunities for Luann’s growth and self exploration. A threesome might be outside the box for the family comic page however…

Red, get a grip and stop being so judgemental of people you do not even know. For me the participation here offers periodic breaks among work, helping an older family member who has dementia, caring for a terminally ill pet, knowing i am lucky in having a wonderful hubby, and doing multiple chores. So, do not assume that you know anything about what people’s lives are like or why they enjoy community here. I think pretty much all of us are going to turn out to be adults with lives which have their own legitimate demands. If you so greatly dislike that many people enjoy the break of conversing here then you have a really easy solution which will even save you time so is a win-win for your distress: just skip the comments section or stop yourself at the first 15.

Battering relationships happen in many configurations.

If you folk do not mind i will try to defuse the tension and sadness with a bit of humour that is peripherally related. As is common with families where people have bad allergies Steve and i have a shortcut for referring to having a nasty reaction. We call it “getting hit”. Steve used to be terribly affected by some of the scents in the soap aisle so i would go down those without him. One day he joined me and i got very worried for him, and told him he had better leave that aisle or he woukd get hit. Another woman was in the aisle, and she stared angrily at me as if i was the most perverse being in the world and rapidly exited the aisle. I was flabbergasted and wondered the entire rest of the shopping trip if she was going to reappear w cops at her elbow. Ah, the dangers of family verbal shortcuts!

Re Pru’s apparent age: I see her as being somewhere in her upper 20’s but with her own sense of style, probably from being involved in the theatre.

Dog, i was completing a puzzle and it turned out to be an old dual cabin with a dog trot, something i learned about only this year. Dog trots were walkways between two cabins that were adjoined. It just struck me as something that might tickle your fancy.
