Luann was an obsessively bizarre stalker at that young an age. The creepiest part is her reminiscing with such a profound look of pride she has in the second to last panel… nostalgic over the time she rooted through garbage to get a yucky chewed up wad of gum and keeping it for years and years. O__o

Ohh, yuck! Throw it away, Luann! That will a decisively symbolic act! Or, keep it, and forsake Quill….

Lue should throw gum out and replace it with a date fruit given to her by Quill, is only way she would have a date from Quill, it seems ;) as they always have “non-dates”

I just noticed how funny Puddles’ expression is in the final panel even he seems to agree with Bernice that that’s kinda pathetic. Also why didn’t Luann wear shoes as a kid?

Toss the gum and put in a lock of Quill’s hair darling!

I know this is off topic for today’s strip, but does anyone know the start date for the original Ann Eiffle story? It was before I started reading and I’d like to check it out.

funny to see Luann as a young kid, i know she’s 16 now (and forever) but don’t know how old she was then. just noticed that Luann’s hair now is almost identical to Toni’s hair.
