Loony Lisa again shows her lack of economic knowledge.
Please get back to us when the unemployment rate tops 10%.
Interest rates top 15%.
Inflation rates top 15%.
Food lines go around the block.
And companies losing money instead of raking in record profits.
Stop getting your talking points from Fox Propaganda and RW echo chambers. It makes you look stupid, Lisa. Then again, according to your own biography, you are little more than an artist who graduated HS on your art skills.
“In high school, her only interest was art, and she took every class offered at Rim of the World.
Not interested in college and unsure about a career path, in 1975 she packed up and moved to San Luis Obispo where her brother and his family had settled."
Still have your job? Not for long. “It’s a recession when your neighbor loses his job; it’s a depression when you lose your own.” Let’s hope we don’t hit the “D” word next. Winston Churchill “If you’re not a liberal when you’re 25, you have no heart. If you’re not a conservative by the time you’re 35, you have no brain.” Please show you have a brain come Nov. 8th.
You will still have a job, Lisa; we need people like you around as examples to others what happens when a person goes over to the dark side of christian conservative ideology.
The threat of recession is being overblown by Ms. Benson and others. A long read but worth it for insights into U.S. economic policies and what U.S. economic growth, which is a much better indicator of economic health than a recession, are showing:
Britain’s inflation rate is 10.1%. The US inflation rate is 8.2% and falling. In Britain, the Conservatives tried to pass tax cuts for the wealthy, and markets were TANKED! In the US, Republicans want to do the same thing.
Republicans answer to transitory inflation is to make more money for themselves. If you think they are working for the middle class, or the poor, you are deluded.
Highest inflation in Forty freakin’ years, but libs are like…Someone else’s rate is worse than ours. Who cares. Again, Worse inflation in 40 years! You caused it. Get ready to be blown up on Nov 8th.
Lisa Benson believes in carnivorous, man-eating whales? She apparently misunderstands every part of the Bible she reads, because Jonah was said to be swallowed by a great fish. (And it returned him safely to land.)
For all the whining and crying, I’m not seeing people trading in their pickup trucks for more fuel efficient or electric cars. So, perhaps things are not so dire after all, huh Lisa?
Are those techies in the boat Twitter employees? Go WOKE go broke, once Musk guts the bots, spammers, blue checkers out, Twitter will become a true Public Square for all.
Nailed it, Lisa. The temporary inflation that the Democrats “in charge claimed is now with us for the indefinite future. Recession by all impartial economists definition is with us. The left can dance around with their redefinitions but it doesn’t change the facts no matter how much they play apologist for Biden.
I see their whinging and mewling that the whole world is is the same state some worse than others. Here’s a little clue of which many lefties are aware but choose to ignore. The USA is still the economic giant of the planet v with no other country not even China (more on this later) close to US. That said, what the world’s politicians and economists know and have for the last seventy years is that: “As goes America, so goes the rest of the world”. We’re not in this fix because of world conditions or even Putin. The USA and world are suffering because of the unprecedented, incredibly incompetent decisions of Biden and his handlers.
Now China. May be a paper tiger, but it’s also old, decrepit, hollow and terribly corrupt. Look at how badly corruption has devastated Russia, what was supposedly the second greatest military force in the world. Ukraine wasn’t even twenty on that list and all they needed was a bit of help from other countries. Even at that, if Russia was even close to what they claimed they should not have been doing so poorly. The extent of China’s corruption is not known but it’s looming there in the background. As far as their much touted industrial capabilities, here’s a couple facts. Ballpoint pens. China exports tens of millions of them, but until recently they had to import one essential part they ere incapable of making until 2017. The pens nib, that teeny, little ball at the point which transfers the ink. Computer chips, they can’t make modern state of the art chips. They are at least three to four generations behind the current standard and have to import current Gen. Chips if needed.
@braindead- I don’t know why you have to jump on the bandwagon with all the other Klingons and say negative things about Lisa when she’s expressing her opinions and views through her artwork like all the other cartoonists! Personally I find her to be very talented! And as I said before, I you feel you can do better, than YOU draw some comics, post them on here and let us critique YOU!!
(Bloomberg) — A US recession is effectively certain in the next 12 months in new Bloomberg Economics model projections, a blow to President Joe Biden’s economic messaging ahead of the November midterms.
The forecast will be unwelcome news for Biden, who has repeatedly said the US will avoid a recession and that any downturn would be “very slight,” as he seeks to reassure Americans the economy is on solid footing under his administration.
Can someone tell Joek in general, everyday people can expect the following in a recession:
More layoffs, less hiring, fewer pay raises and bonusesHigher interest rates, including for mortgages and car loansLower prices for homes and carsStock market investments decreasesInterest rates on savings increases
Recessions and unemployment are tightly linked during a recession — there are more layoffs during a recession, and it will take employees longer to find a new job once they are laid off. Pay raises and bonuses are more scarce during a recession.
Poorer people spend less money, which hurts companies’ profits, which leads to more layoffs — the recession cycle continues.
June 10, 2020When did they change the definition of the word ‘recession’?By Bob Rice, American Thinker
A recent New York Times article titled “U.S. Economy Entered Recession in February” was put out for consumption. The article makes no mention of what constitutes a recession other than that the National Bureau of Economic Research’s Business Cycle Dating Committee deemed it so.
Recently, (remember, this was published in 2020) that has changed. Almost as a thief in the night, the definition police have come and changed the definition of the word “recession.” A recession used to mean two back-to-back quarters of negative economic growth. Apparently, the word “recession” now means a significant decline in economic activity in a designated region. When this change happened is unclear, but it certainly happened at some time during the Trump administration. As to why the change in definition has happened, one can only speculate, but it is abundantly clear that the intent was to harm the public’s appreciation of the economic miracle that the Trump administration has created.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought massive economic damage with it but that has not, as yet, caused a recession (under the old definition). What better way to hang an albatross around the neck of President Trump than to change the definition of the word recession to reflect current conditions and use that as a smear in the upcoming election?
Is the NYT going to hang an albatross around the neck of dims to reflect current conditions and use that as a smear in the upcoming mid-terms? Dim policies have caused a recession no matter what definition you use.

Lisa, like all Trump Disciples celebrate inflation and high gas prices.
They, of course have NO solution except for tax cuts for the rich.
And Lisa believes that tax cuts for the rich will benefit her personally. Analysis skills.

Don’t need the long-winded read. If you have 2 quarters in a row of negative GDP, it’s a recession. We’re already there. Case closed.
