Lisa doesn’t mention that it was the repubs who objected to giving more money to the public. They didn’t even vote to give any money away.

If Lisa Benson thinks that $1,400 direct payments to EACH INDIVIDUAL ($2,800 for couples; $5,600 for a family of four) plus additional amounts for children, plus an extension of unemployment benefits, PLUS PENSION REFORM (little noticed, likely over the head of college dropout Lisa’s very small mind), she must really think little of Trump, who never got anything remotely close to that through, and even less of EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN, who voted to give every day Americans NOT ONE PENNY.

Was the American Rescue Plan enough? Of course not. But the things that got cut out were over the objection of the PROgressives and if Lisa thinks it isn’t enough, BLAME IT ON THE MODERATE DEMOCRATS and, even more so, the conservatives.

Oh, and that money for state and local governments is money to OPEN SCHOOLS SAFELY, and help with accelerating the delivery and logistics of vaccines — all things that help REAL AMERICANS, not the corporate welfare and tax giveaways to the few richest elites at the top like the law passed by Trump, that Lisa championed, that cost just as much, but REDISTRIBUTED middle class wealth from working people to the rich and blew a hole in the deficit, as every economist predicted.

(ho hum). Lisa really REALLY hates that the aid is going to mostly to people who actually need it instead of the obscenely rich.

Of the $1.9T in the American Rescue Act, $350B will go to state and local governments. The vast sum of the remaining $1.55T will benefit individuals and families. Here is the breakdown:

Except that the overwhelming majority of the bill’s cost goes directly to assisting individual citizens.

But Benson is too dishonest to admit that.

BTW, after every Republikkkan voted against helping working families get through this crisis, they again proposed helping the mega-rich by repealing the estate tax.

Because not having their state and local taxes jump sky high in the aftermath of the Covid crisis is of absolutely no help to the ordinary resident. Right?

Illogical as always, Lisa. ReTrumplicans have made a religion out of delegating the operation of government programs onto state and local governments, yet refuse to provide funding for them.

But Lisa, don’t fret. Your shining angel Mitch McConnell is proposing yet another tax cut for the rich guys. Rejoice!

Typical conservative cartoonist. No matter how much the average person gets out of this bill, it will be portrayed as being a pitifully small amount compared to what “others” get.

Another big lie.. yeah LIsa I’m looking directly at you.

    Direct checks ($1400) – 422 B

    Unemployment extensions – 246 B

    Individual tax credits – 143 B

    State and local gov – 350 B

My calculator says 811 is greater than 350.

My understanding is: (1) Ms Benson, as usual, misrepresents the difference between the stimulus amounts individuals get and the stimulus amounts local & state governments get, the rationale being that local & state governments have the crucial institutional knowedge and the infrastructure to administer their stimulus funds to the greater benefit of their respective citizens & woe betide them if they don’t administer those funds completely and correctly and (2) again, Ms Benson incorrectly & deliberately implies that the stimulus funds are courtesy of the Democratic Party, which is simply not true.

The funds are what should have been distributed & spent a year ago, but weren’t distributed due to Trump’s knowingly lying to everyone that, one day soon, the Covid-19 pandemic would simply, magically, miraculously, illogically . . . disappear! Instead, we have lost more than 435,000 people to Covid-19 and we’re STILL COUNTING!

Only a liar, a drunk, a lunatic, or a damned fool would claim that we’re not now playing catch-up due to the malfeasance, misfeasance, non-feasance, venality, mendacity, arrogance, double-dealing, and hypocrisy of Trump and the GOP Leadershit from Day One.

Ms Benson is clearly and utterly uninterested in the Truth, focusing on repeating and spreading the same nonsense cultivated and spawned by the QAnon folks and their minions and familiars.

At some point, more and more Americans will awake; the sales of scythes, pitchforks, torches, and pikes will exceed the sales of assorted fast foods and the GOP Leadershit will repent on bended knee, forswear the Trump Error, and collectively fall victim to political and economic amnesia.

State and local governments provide the public many services. Their budget are strained by the burden of extra costs caused by the pandemic. Assisting them assists the public.

Hold on… Trump dumped the responsibility for distributing and injecting COVID shots to state and local governments, with little to no help or guidance… but Trumpers don’t think that those governments should get any funds to do all that?

Poor Lisa, still doesn’t understand economics. Say for example no money was given to the states. Then the states would have to raise taxes [which she would be against] to cover pandemic expenses. Meanwhile interest rates would go up and the states would have to pay on the money they would have to borrow, The increased taxes would then lower taxpayers liability to the federal government, All getting screwed up in a multitude of bureaucracies. This avoids all that shit,

Lisa, you forgot to add “Blue” before state & local on the sweet-treat bowl, as no one will be surprised when we hear that they won’t be disbursing to Red states because Red States didn’t spend like drunken sailors. Whoops, guess we can use that phrase anymore, too sexist, like drunken failures.
