Lisa Benson here perpetuates the BIG LIE.

No, Lisa, it is NOT the Democrats who are in love with deficits. It is the Republicans.

The entirety of the federal debt is the consequence of accumulated Republican fiscal mis-management, including massive deficits, first under Reagan and Bush Sr and then, following Clinton’s transformation of then-record deficits into record surpluses, Bush Jr transformed the record Clinton surpluses back into new record deficits, with two unfunded wars, tax cuts and corporate welfare for the few richest elites and lack of oversight over financial and capital markets leading to an economic collapse. (Dick Cheney famously counseled Bush Jr that “Reagan proved that deficits don’t matter.”) All that blather about deficits from Republicans is a lie. A pretense. Lip service. It is the Republicans who create deficits, then smear the lip service lipstick on their pig and blame it (falsely) on Democrats.

Republicans will only start caring about deficits and the national debt again when there is a Democrat in the White House.

After BUSH crashed the economy and blew a hole in the deficit, Obama came along and rescued us from the Bush economic free fall and could have done even more if he hadn’t faced unprecedented Republican obstruction and filibuster abuse as he tried to FIX what THEY BROKE. Despite this unprecedented obstruction, Obama has had amazing success in cutting back the size of government, reducing by 2/3 the record deficits he had inherited from Reagan/Bush/Bush with a record 84 consecutive months of job gains.

And now, once again, Trump is following the Bush Jr play book, and has blown up the deficits and debts to new stratospheric levels to provide corporate welfare and tax giveaways to the few richest elites who already had the most.

Deficits go DOWN under Democrats and UP under Republicans.

While it’s true that Dems raise the deficit by their bills to help out the population, Repubs end up with higher deficits by their cutting of taxes without equal amounts of cost cutting.

I see a lot of people saying that only republicans add to the deficit. Then explain to me how is it that Obama added $6.785 trillion to the deficit by the end of the 2017 fiscal year? George W Bush only added $3.293 trillion for comparison. Obama had his own tax cuts in 2010 which added a lot to the deficit and he increased military spending which added a lot as well.

So far no one -not even a republican – has proven that there is anything wrong with deficit spending. Quite the contrary

The Republican propagandists are much better at creating the perception that the Democrats cause all the nation’s problems while the Democrats count on logic and reason and do not effectively counter the highly emotional disinformation that is disseminated in red states. The propagandists do not challenge those who think: that the world is flat, those who think the sun travels around the earth, those that think vaccines are bad for you, those that think the world is ending, or those who think the bible is right and math. science, facts, and figures are wrong but rather build on their self-described “conservative” beliefs to create the perception that the Democratic party is the root of all evil.

GW Bush, the only president to cut taxes during a time of war. The top 10 percent didn’t sacrifice for the war effort. They didn’t send their children or spend their money on it. In fact, the made money off of the war, while the rest of the country suffered.

The national debt of $22 Trillion is peanuts compared to the unfunded liabilities of social security, medicare, and Medicaid which is estimated to be somewhere between $100 to $200 Trillion and who know what else will get promised by the AOC Party. Social Services accounts for 65% of the budget and National Defense 15% which helps understand where the bigger part of problem may be.

Don’t worry it will pay for itself. It might take 40 or fifty years, but we have to pay for Reagan’s first and then Bush the lessers.

Well, Lisa is at least willing to suggest that the GOP is also into deficit spending. Which is a partial truth: History shows that in fact the Dems are much better at controlling total spending, though they too engage in plenty of pork for their own districts. What they don’t do is lower taxes on the rich, and spend such a huge percent of the annual budget on war, war materiel, and war-based contract services.

You’d fit right into Sarah Huckabee’s sandals Lisa. I’m sure Trump’s would be delighted to employ you. Take Mike Lee, Orrin Hatch and the rest of Utah’s Conngressworms with you.

Democrats are not innocent of deficit spending, but when Republicans attack them over this, they are the pot calling the kettle black – when the pot is a lot blacker. Which party, I ask, hollers for more “defense” spending when we already spend an obscene amount on our military, and the Pentagon can’t pass an audit?
