More BS from Lisa Benson. The Green New Deal is NOT about pixie dust. It is not about bovine flatulence (cow farts) or taking away your cars or hamburgers or guaranteeing free money to anyone or telling you things you CAN’T do; massive climate devastation will take away all the things you love to do. The Green New Deal is about finding fiscally, commercially responsible alternative ways to make sure we CAN continue to do them in sustainable ways.
The Green New Deal is a RESOLUTION (a proposal in the form of a general statement of long-range objectives), NOT A BILL (proposed law). It contains no specific details nor timeline deadlines.
It is a FRAMEWORK for possible future proposals that seeks to find ways to address issues of climate and environment in ways that focus on INCENTIVES (carrots) rather than PUNISHMENTS (sticks), to provide pathways for making clean, green renewable energy more economically attractive and viable.
If we consider that full real long-term costs of energy from Big Carbon (coal, oil and gas), including the costs of both short-term and long-term environmental and climate damage, clean, green renewables are already far less expensive.
The Green New Deal seeks to recognize that reality and to stop subsidizing that which is killing us. (Okay, I am an old geezer. I won’t be the one who is most harmed by this. I have already apologized to my granddaughters for my generation, but they know I have tried to stand up against the lethal tide unleashed by those of my era.)
Those who oppose the Green New Deal admit they either know nothing of what it actually is, or care only for themselves, and nothing for their children and grandchildren or trying to propose economically viable solutions. Or both.
It’s scary and depressing how many people there are like Lisa who think that government for the people, by the people is not only a fantasy, but a terrible idea at that.
What is so wrong with not wanting the American people to be feudal slaves to corporate overlords?
The Republicans’ ideology must be powered by angel dust. They want to depend on a non renewable source of energy that is also destroying all life on this planet and they believe that trickle down economics will bring prosperity to everyone.
There’s plenty of pixie dust. It is a false, manufactured shortage so you would not notice all the pixie dust is being carted off and cached by the corporations and the 1%.
I don’t think she really believes what she draws – just stuck herself in a rut. There’s no conviction to her cartoons, just going through the motions, like playing to the crowd.
You do know that medicare for all is going to save the American public and businesses a lot of money, don’t you? At the expense of health insurance company profits.
Its a communication problem. Ask that guy if he has “thoughts and prayers” to protect kids. He does. Ask if he buys bottles of “Fear of the LAWD JEEEEEEZUUSSS!” He does. If the Dems pose the statement differently it will play in Peoria. Never to Lisa. But to the people sure.
Lisa and the other climate change deniers better hope there’s some “pixie dust” around in 10 years when things really change for the worse. I can’t understand for the life of me how these dunce heads can deny what’s right in the front of them.
We should all thank Lisa for her imaginative, beautifully drawn, and always provocative messages. She provokes her audience to think and react — and exercise our first amendment rights if so compelled. If you so strongly disagree with her messages, you don’t have to read her. But don’t ridicule and try to stifle her first amendment rights. Keep them coming, Lisa! We need to contemplate all sides of the issues.
The only pixie dust is what the Republicans are blowing out their rears. We have an extremely serious situation facing all of mankind. We have overpopulated our planet by 6 billion and adding to that figure by over 200,000 a day. The carbon footprint of this excess humanity is more than the planet can deal with. We must take every step possible to reduce our fossil carbon exhausts and also reduce our breed rate to bring the planet’s human population down to a sustainable level of 1.5 to 2 billion total. The first step in this necessary process is to remove every republican from power that we possibly can this next election. In the mean time, if you’re thinking of cranking out another human being, you might want to consider the fact that that person probably won’t live past 40 or 50 years of age. This is because if we don’t make drastic changes starting immediately, the planet will not be habitable for humans and most other life, in a very few decades.
GOPists behavior: If you cannot criticize “the enemy” by making valid points, then just cast baseless aspersions. I would really enjoy seeing better work, but I don’t see much hope.

Lisa knows her audience.. this cartoon has the most comments so far. If success is measured by involvement by her readers.. she is winning.
