If Petey can see a part of the bottom of his bowl he starts pacing in front of the pantry, where his food is kept. So this cartoon is spot on.
Nimitz and Honor will start mewing at us when they see daylight at the bottom of the bowl and lead us to the food dishes to show us this sad state of affairs. Honor leads us to the bowl so she can show us how much she loves her kibble anyway.
In our household, we call the “empty bowl” on the right as “cat empty”
