The house next to the house I was brought up in was built in the 1920’s witha speakeasy in the basement, I remember that in the 1960’s it was filled with pinball machines.
Well-to-do neighborhoods always have neat stuff… mine just had stuff.

Oakland has a lot of storybook houses. Hidden stairways too. Sadly Mexicali Rose is no more.

The ‘spooky’ drawing looks a lot like the base of Loma Vista. Not spooky farther up -cozy and car free.
