It reminds of the old story about the young woman who only wanted to be Mrs. Mick Jagger. No matter how good a fellow she was with, she’d think, “He’s great, but he’s no Mick Jagger.” She thought it over and over as the years passed.
One day, at a Stones concert, she caught the eye of Mick Jagger. He approached her after the show and asked her out. Somehow, though, the way he looked and sounded and moved when right there in front of her made her think, “He’s great, but he’s no Mick Jagger.”
For all those many looking for their “perfect soul mate” will never find them. Or if they do they aren’t what they imagined them to be. The rest are more flexible and find better choices than what they initially thought.
Moral of the story….the idea we have of “perfect” is all too often that which is free of hassle, risk, or surprise, which is unfortunate, because even the best things in life generally come with all three.

Corn fields have passing ships in the night. That’s why they didn’t notice each other. Corn fields are dark at night.
