Good for you John (especially with the vaccination!). If it was 1958, people would never hesitate to get vaccines for polio, smallpox, measles, etc. Parents used to be scared silly for their kids NOT to be vaccinated. Instead now parents put up lawn signs bragging how their kids will never get the shot, and violently threatening schoolboards who want kids to just use masks to protect themselves.

We are going to need regular booster shots, Lets hope the government makes them readily available. Vaccines are fine, but their efficacy wanes with time. It will probably be like an annual flu shot.

And all this time I thought Fred was a backup drummer with the Crash Test Dummies.

Every unvaccinated person is a virus research lab churning out new variants. Viruses mutate easily. Most mutations are either negligibly different from the original, or unsuccessful. But given enough tries they come up with new, more communicable &/or more deadly variants. While a vaccinated person may get Covid, the antibody activity limits it’s spread and it’s opportunities to mutate.

India completed more than 100 crore vaccination doses. (100 crores is 1 billion). Where Dose 1 – 71,32,31,140 (713 million +) and Dose 2 : 29,85,75,262 (298 million +).
