    If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 1000 times. Go after the companies who hire illegals with meaningful fines and penalties. End the demand and watch the supply dry up. While we’re at it, get after those despicable companies who ignore safety already. How many people have to die before someone actually does some thing about it??????

    If we stop giving them jobs, free health care, free college education, free housing and force them to adopt OUR language and customs, maybe they will go back home.

    To be honest, I’ve never heard of illegals being given free college educations or free housing. And whose language must they adopt? The Cajun of South Louisiana, or the Intuit of Alaskan Eskimo? How about the Navajo, Cherokee, or Seminole languages? Perhaps the customs of the Amish? I have no problems with diversity of language and custom, but I do have a problem with this administration choosing to ignore the law when it suits them. Keep the arguments real.

    ^^ You’re questioning the Cuban Adjustment Act? Cause that is the only instance in which illegal immigration is rewarded with “free” college and housing. Healthcare is given to everyone simply because asking for your papers (or payment) before treating you in the emergency room would be akin to firemen checking to see if your fire protection “fees” are paid up before deciding whether or not to let your house burn down.

    I agree with Jase99. It’s easier to go after the source of their jobs than it is to ferret people out like animals. If it’s not worthwhile to try and get a job here without going through the proper channels, then people won’t be as encouraged to try to jump ahead in line.

    Actually, the CAA does not grant free anything to any illegal immigrants because Cubans reaching the US are considered legal immigrants. The wet feet/dry feet policy grants any Cuban reaching US soil the right to be granted asylum and to seek residence in one year. Those caught before reaching land are turned back or sent to a third country. This only applies to Cubans, not Mexicans or anyone else. Even then, they are not given free college education or free housing, unless you count detention at the Krome Detention Center in Miami where those who do reach dry land are taken for processing.

    Perhaps bob875m exaggerated a bit on housing and education. Those things are only given at reduced rates like Obama’s aunt who lived in sect 8 housing. Many programs for collage do not confirm citizenship before giving tuition breaks and other reductions to low income applicants. Which customs are we talking about? Perhaps we are talking about the man in Ca. that sold his 14 yr-old daughter into an arranged marriage for some cash, beef and some beer and then reported the guy to the police when he didn’t pay up. The local police chief said: “There was no force, fear or coercion,” he said. “What we’re dealing with now is a difference in cultures. All of this would have been perfectly legal where they came from.” Perhaps we are talking about the dog fights and rooster fights that can be found easily in broad areas of Texas. Perhaps we are talking about the custom of pulling young girls from school to baby sit younger siblings. Perhaps we are talking about killing your daughters for honor because they were dating non Muslims. Perhaps we can all admit that there are some customs inappropriate for America. Language is more difficult. Most occupations in Texas now require applicants be bilingual. That is the PC expression and it is not a bad thing. If you speak French and English just don’t apply for a job in federal or state welfare. The fact is you will have to speak Spanish and English, even if the English isn’t grammatically correct or even understandable. The same is true of school teachers, principals, firemen, police, and convenience store clerks to cite only a few. Texas is currently focused and required by federal rulings to teach English to Hispanic students and no resources are mandated to provide Spanish lessons to Americans. We are actively depriving the next generation of Americans with no Spanish speaking background of jobs. Fair or not it is a fact. Perhaps we should give some consideration to language and its influence on job markets even if it is Eskimo.

    Gee, it works so well in Europe. Multi-culterism etc. Cheap labor to break unions and eviscerate the middle class. Bring the standard of living down to pre WWII levels and make Communisn sound attractive again. The oil men rule us all. it’s their immigration policy, their war policy and their election funding.

    Open the border. Tell immigrants to get work and to report anyone who exploits them. Punish exploiters fiercely. Educate everyone.

    Señor(a) blank(wo)man, Mexico doesn’t suck at all. I love it there. El problema is that your currency is worth much more than my pesos. And since your employers are not held accountable for hiring us we come here and take your yabs. We get the money and bring it back to our country. I own a house back home that my abuela is living in. Si we may get deported but at least we get to see our relatives. By the way most of us fly here and simply stay. Only the truly desperate cross the border mojado.

    I mean, they don’t move there permanently….and those who go there for the winter are made fun of, they’re “quétaine” (tacky), the ultimate quebecker insult! They like the sun, but won’t live there. And, most of all, won’t work there.

    Florida welcomes Canadians, I think. Although, when I lived in North Carolina and Virginia I was more closely connected with the tourist industry, and those states surely love Canadians.

    Your dollars are worth more nowadays, so COME ON DOWWWNNNNN.

    That’s the main difference between mexicans coming in the US and Canadians; Canadians aren’t poor!

    Canada’s not THAT cold. I’m sure the real reason Canada sounds so cold is because we use Celsius degrees.

    Celsiuses in a nutshell;

    0 degrees celsius; Water freezes (or ice melts…) 37 degrees celsius; temperature of a healthy (living!) human body 100 degrees celsius; Water boils

    So 35 degrees up here is just slightly colder than the average healthy (not dead!) human body.
