Critical Race Theory is a collage level deep dive into the sociology of race. As a college level course it is intended to spark debate and analysis. Teaching that there was slavery in the US, that is was white men owning black people, and that it was cruel is HISTORY, NOT CRT. Just another case of Republicans repurposing words to scare their base.
I teach electronics at a local community college. Don’t teach CRT at all – it has nothing to do with electronics, and I don’t know enough about CRT to be able to teach it anyway. But I periodically get accused of teaching CRT by dummies who assume that I MUST be teaching CRT simply because I teach anything…
Of course, the same dummies also accuse me of teaching children to become liberals – again, only based upon their delusions about teaching. I teach at the college level – my students are adults, not children, but that doesn’t stop those dummies from demanding that they get to rant and rave foolishly in my face.
Every so often I invite some of these dummies to sit in some of my classes so they can see what goes on for themselves. Never had any show up – even the loud-mouthed ones who vow that they’re going to come and even film it so they can “prove” how evil my class must be… apparently they don’t want to risk finding that their rage is unfounded…
