Doppelganger but with hair
LOL! Tom knew it right away!
Cue the “The Twilight Zone” music!
I have this problem all the time. I have a cousin who is approximately the same age as me, has the same mannerisms, similar voice and other than eye colour is an exact duplicate of me. I had just started dating a woman and told her I didn’t own a car. That night he went through the drive through where she worked and she swore it was me, and refused to believe that I wasn’t a liar. Both of us work in the same city, and I have lost count of the number of times people asked me when I left my other job, at a place I’ve never worked because they are positive that I’m my cousin. The strangest part of the whole thing is that due to familial estrangement I’ve only met my cousin once in my life, which was when I saw how much alike we were physically.
Completely off-topic but I am hoping the artist/author/master storyteller Robb Armstrong might check comments today. If so, I have a question about the origins of this strip’s title. Robb, where did “Jump Start” come from and/or what does it mean? Thank you in advance! (PS: Love your storytelling, love your characters, love your artwork! You are a master at communicating emotions – joy, exhileration, curiosity, anger, disappointment, fear, love, suspicion etc. – with just a few strokes of the pen.)
People used to say I looked just like the drummer on Cheap Trick. Found a record store and look on the back of an album. Don’t know if I feel sorrier for him or me!
If my exact double sounds different coming towards me than going away from me, does that mean that my doppelganger has a Doppler effect?
When I was in Germany my mother had a woman come in to the restaurant in Colorado where she was working at the time. My Mom proceeded to say to the girl, “When the H*ll did you get back?” Plus more colorful language. Once the girl started talking Mom realized her mistake. So, at least back in 1988, there is someone who looks enough like me to fool my own mother.
That clears that up.
This is getting freakier.
They’ll be twins separated at birth, just you wait.
Due South with the mountie (y??) who looked amazingly like Leslie Nielsen.
(Played by same.)
3 Identical Strangers (documentary). Separated at birth issue.
Very interesting! I also like Tom Lazarus.
I remember when I was in the hospital in a shared room. My roommate’s granddaughter came to visit her, but she would give me a strange look. One day, the granddaughter told me that I look exactly like someone who lives in a neighbourhood I’ve never been in.
You never forget who puts you in jail.
Hmm… Delray was also named “Ray Ramsey,” once upon a time!
Oh no. That throws a wrench in it.
23AndMe here they come!
