Finding a cure for that deadly illness will be a momentous discovery and save millions of lives. A well- known celebrity or two or three would sure help the momentum grow towards finding a potential cure…..good luck, Marcus!
Bone marrow transplant seems to be the only current treatment capable of curing a person, but that’s one person at a time, and very expensive. Perhaps something using a virus to transfer recombinant DNA has a chance.
Perhaps someday, they’ll discover a gene that will conteract the virus and one can be innoculated against it at the same time they’re Innoculated against polio and smallpox.

Now, in 2022, there are several patients who seem to be in complete remission because of CRISPR gene editing. It’s amazing.
