The real monster is, of course, the hateful distrust in results-oriented knowledge-based critical thought that has been replaced by media that is fighting for popularity/profit not truth as they propagate conspiracy theories, urban legends, old-wives tales, innuendo, gossip, and outright lies … mocking the very concept of “United” States while creating false division and irrational fears.
I have to wonder… how many Police today are Military Vets from the shrub’s war that are dealing with PTSD and other lingering mental effects of the war, but haven’t gotten proper care from the V.A. and other mental health agencies due to Republican Budget cuts?
Maybe I’m wrong thinking, but I see part of the problem as there is no accountability by the police departments for the actions of their officers. Not all police are bad, but those who are bad gets away with it in most cases. When a citizen files a suit it’s always against the entity and the citizens are ones who pays and does not affect the policing agency in any way. They don’t lose funding, in many cases they get more so there is no real accountability. While I’m not black and I don’t face the danger they faced now, I did when I was younger and the Police forces had “special” departments who targeted the LGBTQ community. And that changed a lot when we fought back against the harassments. Something has got to change, and it seems it needs to be the way the police interacts with the communities.

What’s black and white and full of fuzz? A squad car.
People shouldn’t be afraid of law enforcement, yet it may save their lives.

Good toon. Banned in Florida by order of Dictator DeSantis: too divisive.
