I have little sympathy for people who crowd intersections holding “homeless” signs. I’ve seen them get dropped off at corners to do this, and they get out of nicer cars than I can afford… I’ve also seen them decide to quit for the day – and walk over to their parked car that is newer and nicer than mine… But the worst was the day when we tried to hire some “will work for food” guys. We needed help unloading two semi trailers (not heavy boxes, but there were a lot of them and we needed to get the trucks back on the road)… Offered them $100 cash each for what would be less than two hours of work – and they sneered and said they could make more than that just panhandling with their signs…
