There is one white supremacist running who is pushing to make pedophilia normal. Then they blame the left.

I find it especially weird how tRump is warning everyone how Biden is going to do everything he himself is already guilty of. Deflect much?

Thanks to the Gerrymander, redistricting produces subsets of voters on the far left and hard right. These groups can dominate a single legislative district (usually in the minority party) in order to give a numerical advantage to the majority party in neighboring districts. Hence the total nutjobs are rarely elected to statewide office (would require some mainstream appeal for a broader base of the populace) but represent the dark corners of their respective domains. The right wing crazies get more air time nowadays thanks to being emboldened by the angry orange.

All too true. Those rural Americans that a lot of conservatives call “real Americans” (while living in wealthy urban zones themselves) are all-too-fertile ground for right-wing and white supremacist movements, according to the FBI.

We’ve had this split between rural and urban almost since the beginnings of this nation; it was more “landholders” versus “workers” at first; by the Civil War (AKA the Slavers’ Rebellion) it began to be white slaveholding plantation owners versus diverse urban industrial centers, and it continues to this day. The Electoral College was designed in part to protect the power and influence of the rural minority, which has become increasingly ridiculous and unfair as more and more Americans (~80%!) are urban.

I look back with fondness to the good old days, when it was okay to condemn Nazis.

Can’t remember Anne Frank and her family being concerned that people of color would be moving in nearby. Oh, maybe it was the Brown shirts.

As a suburbanite I should be offended except that it’s true. They’re not just coming for the urbanite folks. They’re coming for me.

OK, I see what Sorensen is doing here. Worse, I’ve actually seen it (on TV) happening in Portland OR. It’s TRUE. There’s really only one reasonable solution (and that isn’t quick):

           VOTE THE BASTARDS OUT

… and hope that with somewhat more rational people in charge, we can start to walk back some of the crazy.
