I thought it was a very optimistic agenda. But if he can get half of it done before everybody takes off for the year before mid-term elections, he’ll have done more than most presidents for the electorate.

At least he has an economic agenda that’s not “Fill my own pockets.”

There is a lot of catching up to do. Too much has been ignored, or blocked, for too long.

Too short for a CVS receipt.

    BTW, A: Six.

Q: How many CVS receipts does it take to reach the moon if they were placed end to end?

If Biden can convince all the members of his Senatorial team to go along with what he’s proposing, he’ll get it passed, according to the Senate Parliamentarian, on most stuff, we can pass legislation on a simple majority vote, as long as it affects the budget.

Of course, that means things like police reform and Civil Rights legislation will never get passed without republican buy-in – which is never going to happen, anyway – because republicans don’t believe in such things.

So we’ll save those pieces of legislation until closer to the next election so that we can hang their failure around their necks like an albatross. And then, maybe we can get a decent enough majority to not need republicans AT ALL.

His agenda is not only optimistic but realistic. And it can lead us to a more just, healthier, more economically stable future. Of course, none of that will happen if the GOP has any say in the matter.

Biden is like a breath of fresh air, and he hasn’t even gotten a good start on the environmental laws.

I think Uncle Joe was “optimistic” (AKA – he stretched a couple of things), but it was nice to see an adult addressing us as fellow adults for a change.

He actually talked about policy and the speech was not all about himself and how wonderful he is. Unlike he who shall remain nameless he actually had specific ideas with metrics to measure their success. You didn’t hear vague terms like “I’m doing a tremendous job; nobody has done a job as good as I have and I’ve got a beautiful plan; you’re gonna love it. Trust me.”

Biden is aiming high. But that’s better than our “wartime president” who consistently set low goals for the country and failed to attain them except in his own mind and in the revisionist history as reported by FOX News, OAN and Newsmax.

We’ve been pretending Trickle Down works for 40+ years. It never worked. Time to try something different, and growing the economy and the middle class has worked before; I say “let’s do it again!”.

The voters made a terrible mistake back in 2016, the Democrats also made a terrible mistake by putting up Hillary as their candidate!

Well, CVS gets a knock for those long receipts. Most people just laugh as the paper reels out and the clerk tries to fold it small enough to fit in the bag.

On the other hand, I can’t find anything to laugh about when my Food Lion receipt is accompanied by a coupon for a discount on automobile tires. Looked and looked but couldn’t find either a display of tires in the veg area or a service center behind the store. So they raised prices but no longer offer coupons for grocery items. Between that foolishness and dropping certain popular products without notice, FL seems to be operating under a different plan.

I know a number of people who, back during the toilet paper shortage, would stop in a CVS for a roll of Life Savers™. The receipt kept them supplied for three or four days.

His plan may be too bold but even if only part of it gets done or started, it’s better than sitting around doing nothing. He said that in his speech. Doing nothing is not an option.

The economy under Biden is picking up rapidly. A lot of this is due to the vaccinations, of course, for which we can thank the Biden Administration, but considering all the doomsaying by the GOP leading up to the election, and the doomsaying going on now if we ever tax rich people another dime, their crystal ball is clearly cracked!

Odd how, when there is a Republican in the White House, Republicans are sure that the economy will grow and that will pay for all of their spending… but they turn around and say such a platform is bogus if a Democrat uses it…

Before haters claim that Democrats “always spend out of control and crash the economy”, don’t forget that Trump said "I’ve been around for a long time and it just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans.”

Business class would say “you got to spend money to make money”. Capitalist Governments runs on taxation to fund its systems. Otherwise government would have to own and operate businesses to fund its systems. Politicians are paid by taxpayers; perhaps elected office should be a salary less 2nd job subsidized by their civilian job.

There’s a lot that needs to be done, and Biden wants to address as much as possible. Isn’t investing in the US and restoring it on the world stage worth it? Or do you like seeing the US start to left behind to China and others? Being a leader on the world stage takes putting something in, rather than talk and saber rattling.
