The best things in life are free
But you can keep them for the birds and bees
Now give me money
That’s what I want
That’s what I want, yeah
Oh, come now. It can’t be that bad. There’s almost always just enough corporate sellout Democrats voting alongside Republicans to ensure the needs of their shared corporate donors get served instead of the needs of the voters.
There’s no honor nor love lost among thieves!
Why can’t we be friends, why can’t we be friends? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DmYLrxR0Y8
In the past two often warring entities found ways to come together when faced with a common enemy. There has never been a third political party strong enough to make that happen. Seems the fact that we citizens are that third party never comes up in D.C.
And I think this strip would be slightly more accurate if it showed both parties hogging it up at the public trough, because, even while they are at odds, neither of them is going short of pay, health care, retirement security, free services, limos, cheap air fare, and a hoard of other perks.
Nice try, Cupid.
Odd, ethically, I’ve always viewed being loyal to a political party after being elected as similar to being loyal to an old relationship after you’re married. Loyalties must change after the election as it’s an entirely different job. Doing what right for We the People is not the same as doing what’s right for just We the Democrats or just We the Republicans or just Our Wealthy Sponsors.
Cupid needs more arrows…….lots and lots of arrows.
I do not have to love someone in order to do a bit of business with them. Something I wish the more radical politicians on both sides of the aisle would take to heart.
