    I guess this means Jeff thinks he was a very bad man. Or that Jeff doesn’t understand the song. Or Mandela. Or history. Or …

    …great cartoon…love the right’s spin on Mandela’s death…they compare his struggles to Obamacare,call him a communist,and accuse Obama of turning his death into everything Obama…Can’t wait for the Bill O’Reilly book…

    Yeah, I do kind of wish a little more thought had been put into this. The song cited is about the tragedy that we live in a world that does not appreciate its best and brightest. I remember the three latter assassinations and how the world felt like it was going crazy. I certainly don’t begrudge Mr. Mandela either his long life or accolades for his ability to rise above an abominable system, but you could definitely say that he beat the odds of both his time and his place.
