Did you see the ads Putin has put out making being a soldier easy money? Does not reflect the reality of aged equipment, flak vests made out of foam, having to buy their own uniforms, etc. etc. etc.

i heard a report today that Putin’s vaunted Wagner group is getting their ar$es handed to them in Ukraine. It’s not any under-equipped, under-trained bunch they’re facing, unlike in Syria. They’ve extended their recruitment to convicts in return for full pardons (for any survivors) & the report was that some 40,000 cons jumped at the chance, sustaining an estimated 80% casualty rate as they were put in the frontline units. This speaks volumes about the state of prisons in the former USSR.

They are by definition mere “cannon fodder,” and Putin has cleverly and effectively reduced his prison population. It’s a win-win for him no matter the results on the battlefield.

Putin is practicing genocide at home and in Ukraine. Stalin would be proud of him.

Body counts, on either side, are meaningless to shootin’ putin.

Counts as high as 200,000 and this spring is going to be brutal because they’ll have people who are not trained and not equipped going against a Ukrainian armed force that has become very efficient and effective. I hope the friends of Ukraine are able to supply them quickly enough.

Putin is sending poorly trained conscripts to face an enemy that’s been blowing up tanks and killing Russians since last February.
