I agree that he’s thoughtful, and I think compassionate as well, but he’s blocked in by doctrines he won’t discard and an institution more powerful than he is, no matter what he thinks and feels.
Some Roman Catholic friends had five kids. One of their daughters has five kids, about a year apart. The other daughter and their three sons have only two kids, or none. Guess which ones are among the “new breed” (breeders) of Catholics who bypass that contraception edict?
