Anyone remember the “disappeared” in Argentina? Pinochet in Chile? Pol Pot? Stalin? Joshua? The history of the “butcher in chief” is not only ancient, but very current, in many places around the world. Oddly, when the “press officers of the world” keep the focus only on “certain” criminals, the rest cheer.
I’m sure Jeff is more than aware of the others as well, but our own media can’t let us go beyond the Middle East, and our oil suppliers. Well, western African nations ARE giving us the oil, or at least the multi-national corporations are getting it, and of course, it’s all above board and very altruistic.
If we hadn’t used black sites including Syria during our “extraordinary rendition,” it might be easier to take the moral high ground. ……………….According to the separate European Parliament report of February 2007, the CIA has conducted 1,245 flights, many of them to destinations where suspects could face torture, in violation of article 3 of the United Nations Convention Against Torture.………………….http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extraordinary_rendition_by_the_United_States#cite_note-15
