Other than rhetoric, they both serve the same masters and ignore the middle class.

    Bothsiderism? Really? Let’s see…

minority Christian White male privilege, racism, intolerance, bigotry, misogyny, nativism, science denial, the War on Druggies, homophobia, Islamophobia, gerrymanders and voter suppression, tax cuts regardless of the deficit, union-bashing, teacher-bashing, deregulation, the Clintons made me do it!, fear, hatred, lying, cheating, stealing,…

    vs.

health care for all, diversity, #MeToo, Black Lives Matter, caring for refugees, education in science and civics and critical thinking for all, the environment, cooperation, a basis in reality,…

Oh, I get it. Each side wants to impose its version of American greatness on the other, and each side claims that the other is evil for wanting to do so. So some people claim that they can’t see any difference. Just like the argument over slavery leading up to the Civil War.

“Their thinking it right, and our thinking it wrong, is the precise fact upon which depends the whole controversy.”

    Abraham Lincoln, Cooper Union Address
