Captain Victorious: It's amazing how far coffee has progressed! Even the cups! You used to get a dinky cup with a flimsy lid. Now you get these huge 20-ouncers with deluxe dome lids and cardboard sleeves for your fingers! Ralston: I wouldn't call doubling the waste "progress." Captain Victorious: It is if you triple the price!
It really is pretty awful how much wasteful packaging has increased just in the last half century or so. I can still (barely) remember when Coke came in recyclable glass bottles.
