You have to take snuggles as they come!
There’s nothing to ‘get’! Cats decide what they want and take it when they want – simple!
You just weren’t quick enough.
Lucas is obviously a cat who can draw.
One of our cats does the drive-by leg rub and then runs away when we go to pick him up
He doesn’t run far, he goes about a yard and then flumps on his side
He wants to be picked up and cuddled, but we have to play the game first
Well this sums up my fat cat Caesar is about 1/2 a minute. Runs away and flops to the ground. When i play me PlayStation she lay on a sleeping bag behind me on the couch. My friends and I call her Le Chonk
“No one gets me, baby! I”m like the wind." -Tom Servo
I said “Notice me,” not “Pet me!”
Often, a cat is not looking for attention, but just reinforcing ownership records.
Again, I ask: Lucas, are you a cat or a cat in a past life?
This is super accurate to ‘my’ cat.
“I wanted three scritches, not four!”
That’s about right
“I just want to mark my territory, not have it manhandle me!”
Our cat Shadow used to “punish” us this way when we left him alone overnight. He would make sure we were aware of him, then turn his back on us, usually for about 24 hours minimum.
Territory Marked. Mission Accomplished.
We have one cat just like that, she wants affection on her terms or if she want us to fill her bowl. Our other cat is the exact opposite, she can’t get enough attention and is will follow us around to get it.
More likely she was marking territory.
Codey relished attention.
