Jim indeed did create a bunch of what would later be described as sexist pieces…………………………………………..this non-sexist piece is a little funny.

He probably wishes that it were so.

I take polls with a block of salt big enough to sculpt a full-sized elephant.

First of all, they give percents only: not actual numbers. Then you don’t get a good explanation of the demographics.

Then you don’t have the actual wording of the poll.

Back in the 1960’s when young people were anti-establishment and willing to “stick it to the man.” A poll was conducted to compare political views of college students with their parents.

Two questions were asked, “What are your political views?” “What are your parents’ political views?” The results differed based on the ORDER in which the questions were asked.

I’ve seen polls like, “How much money did the Trump Tax cut save you?” No option for how much did it cost you. Likewise an answer of $100 is meaningless. I make minimum wage and the tax cut saves me $100 a week. I make a million dollars a day and the tax cut saved me $100 a year. Yes, this was an actual questionnaire from my representative.

Sometimes my imagination wanders. Here’s how I hope he replied, in the next panel which, of course, we can’t see:

“You’re right — it was very sexist of me, mansplaining that you weren’t doing the dishes correctly, and offering to show you how they should be done. I apologize, and I’ll never do that — or the dishes — again.”

“I’m going into the living room to watch the game. Shut up and bring me a beer.”

For some women, all men are. I’m not, just like most guys. I help with the household chores, as I am part of the household. I even will wash dishes in the sink at times. However, I draw the line at aprons as do most men….
