I’ll try to keep it simple Henry. Teachers are actual live humans with families, personal health issues and in spite of the fact that they don’t paid enough actually care about their jobs. They do not, however, want nor need to die for it. Whether or not a child goes to school or learns remotely will not impact them in the long run. Many people have gone to school and learned nothing and many others have put the effort in to learn on their own, this won’t change with remote learning. What you’re asking for is not for the sake of the children, you are asking for people to put their lives at risk so people like you can claim that everything is normal. It isn’t and it won’t be for a while, try to grasp that fact.
I’m a proud member of NEA and sit on the state board of directors. Our number one priority, first, last and always, is our students. Payne can jump in a lake.
Those lazy kids are getting paid the same whether they go to school or stay home. Some are making MORE by staying home! Why WOULD they want to go back?
I say we send cheap immigrants to school in their place (many of them are small, and will fit well in those tiny chairs). THAT will teach them something!
Trump claims that children are, “virtually immune to COVID-19”, so Payne takes the word of his Lord and Master, Jesus Trump, over all of the medical professionals, because………..
I recently retired from teaching, so my point of view is a bit different than many of yours. Although it will take some adapting and changing habits we need kids to be in the classroom. For the vast majority of students online learning just does not work. True, some students do well but they are the exception and a clear minority.

162,000 dead. And counting.
Now, Henry and the other Trump Disciples are demanding that children, teens, parents, and teachers begin making their fair share of contributions.

Henry, if you think it is so safe, you should volunteer to be a teacher or teachers aid.
