Actually this could be killing two birds with one stone since an electric car is actually a kind of mobile battery. With some modifications, an electric car could provide a temporary power source for homes when the transmission lines are shut down.
Of course, Henry hears about the PG&E debacle and goes “b-but…cars?”
OTOH, I guess it’s better than having to defend Trump right now.
