The right have been judging Obama by the color of his skin not the content of his character for almost 8 years now.

The plaintiff claimed she was rejected by the University of Texas and less qualified black and Hispanic students were accepted. In 2008, when the plaintiff applied to UT, anyone finishing in the top 10% of the high school graduating class is admitted to the University of Texas. This policy was put in place when there was precipitous drop in black and Hispanic after UT abolished affirmative action in the 1990s. It also points to the sad fact about how segregated are our schools .

The plaintiff did not finish in the top 10% of her graduating class. Of the 47 “less qualified” students accepted instead of the plaintiff, 42 were white; only 5 were black or Hispanic. Also, 162 black and Hispanic students with better grades than the plaintiff were also rejected by UT.

This was the case of a young woman whose dreams of attending her school of choice were dashed and she had to blame somebody. There were attorneys willing to take her case to support a political cause even though the facts did not back them up. Her case was financed by Edward Blum. Blum set up a website where white applicants could submit claims that they were rejected by UT because of affirmative action.
