For people who think of a partially filled glass as half empty, you can always go to a restroom or somewhere that has a faucet and put more water in the glass if you’re not satisfied with how much water is in it.

Look around for a large boat oar . . . it should work much better than a spoon for you.

Maybe it will float to the top once it comes into contact with the eye of newt?
Perhaps some extra leg of toad will offset the metallic taste.
