The problem with education today is that parents are not involved in the process. They don’t want to be. Most parents treat the local school(s) as “free” day care (I know, they pay their taxes — I hope — but it is not some thing that is in their budget monthly). They don’t encourage their children or check to see if homework is done. My wife was a teacher for 1 year. She had a class of 20 students (4th grade). Of those 20 students there were 8 that were interested in learning. The rest just caused problems in class and didn’t do their assignments. Parents would not answer the phone or the number they gave was no longer working. Then you had to e-mail them. That was a joke, they would promise you the moon and the student acted the same way the next day. Parents: The problem and the solution.
