When I was at Hopkins, the Cardiology waiting room had a combination TV-Radio. The receptionist disconnected the TV antenna, for which we all thanked her profusely, and we listened to a classical music station all day. She was out one day and the gal from the float pool tried to figure out why it wasn’t working. “We need the TV. It’s our babysitter.”
I just stared at her. “Our patients don’t need a babysitter.” Nearly all of our patients were retired military; one colonel stood up, and bowed to me. “Thank you, my dear lady. Thank you.” The temp went back to her desk and sat down.
